Position Overview

The Credit Evaluator is in charge of analyzing the creditworthiness of funding candidates by carrying out thorough financial and non-financial evaluations. The position aids sound funding decisions in adherence with Shariah principles, making sure the quality and long-term viability of the institution’s funding project sample.

Primary duties

  • Carry out deep credit evaluation for individual, SME, and corporate funding applications.
  • Organize thorough credit documentation and funding proposals for authorization by the Credit Board.
  • Evaluate and evaluate candidates’ balance sheet and income statement, cash flows, business models, and industry terms.
  • Endorse suitable non-interest (Shariah-conforming) funding systems based on risk evaluation.
  • Work alongside Connection Managers to framework agreements in line with customers’ needs and the institution’s risk appetite.
  • Track current funding connections and project sample effectiveness, recognizing advance notice signs of default or deterioration.
  • Ensure full adherence with internal credit rules, compliance obligations, and Shariah standard procedures.
  • Engage in credit board sessions and offer specialist findings and strategic guidance.
  • Preserve current credit files, records, and recordkeeping for audit and compliance-related purposes.
  • Support to periodic credit risk assessments, stress running test, and project sample status updates.

Credentials & Expertise

  • Bsc in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or relevant field.
  • At least 3–5 years of expertise in credit evaluation or credit risk, ideally in a non-interest or Islamic finance environment.
  • Deep knowledge of balance sheet and income statement, credit indicators, and risk mitigation strategy procedures.
  • Practical understanding of Islamic funding instruments which includes Murabaha, Ijarah, Mudarabah, and Istisna.
  • Competence in financial forecasting and credit scoring operational structures.
  • Robust logical, critical thinking, and analytical abilities.
  • Clear articulation and documentation-drafting abilities.
  • High level of honesty and reliability, meticulousness, and secrecy.
