Laundry worker at Service Arts and Hospitality Academy (SAHA Africa) in Lagos

Position Overview

The Laundry worker is in charge of the productive process of the hotel’s laundry facility. This position ensures all linens, towels, uniforms, and visitor laundry (where relevant) are cleaned, pressed, and stored according to hotel guidelines.

Primary duties

• Collect, organize, wash, dry, fold, and iron hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and visitor clothing (if relevant)
• Operate washing machines, dryers, steam presses, and ironing tools safely and productively
• Examine laundered items for stains, loss, or wear, and documentation any concerns to the manager
• Ensure proper usage and storage of laundry detergents, chemicals, and cleaning inventory
• Arrange and preserve the cleanliness and order of the laundry zone
• Track laundry stock and inform supervisors when inventory is low (e.g., towels, sheets, visitor laundry bags)
• Follow proper standardized processes for managing and labeling visitor laundry and special-care items
• Assist the room maintenance services team by folding or supplying clean linens to guest accommodation attendants as needed
• Follow workplace safety and wellness standard procedures in application of laundry tools and chemicals
• Help with minor repairs or sewing on uniforms or visitor items if necessary
• Preserve a specialist, respectful mindset toward guests and member team members

Qualifications

• Previous expertise as a laundry worker or in a similar position is desirable
• Basic expertise in laundry machines, fabric types, and cleaning methods
• Meticulousness and cleanliness
• Physically suit and capable to lift, move, and stand for extended periods
• Capability to operate independently and productively
• Good schedule control and planning abilities
• Adaptive schedule to operate changes, weekends, and holidays
• Trustworthy and respectful, especially when managing guests' items.
