Overview

  • We are seeking an skilled and proficient Surveyor to join our agile team.
  • The successful applicant will play a main responsibility in carrying out land, mining, and building surveys, coordinating projects from begin to finish.
  • This position is preferred for someone with a few years of expertise who is prepared to take on more duty and grow inside the organisation.

Primary duties

  • Carry out thorough land, mining and building on-site surveys independently or in a collaborative environment.
  • Organize and evaluate survey documentation, maps, and strategies, making sure precision and adherence with industry guidelines.
  • Use improved surveying instruments, which includes GPS, total stations, levels, and laser scanners, to collect precise data.
  • Execute topographical, boundary, and building setting-out surveys.
  • Survey data and report results to Strategic leadership and the mining team, offering informed opinion where necessary.
  • Work alongside the mining team to guarantee alignment between survey data and mining qualifications.
  • Oversee and train entry-level surveyors, offering direction and development to formulate their competencies.
  • Oversee various survey projects at the same time, making sure on-time completion within financial plan and scope.
  • Guarantee alignment to workplace safety and wellness rules on all survey sites.
  • Preserve and ensure proper functioning of all surveying technical resources.

Credentials and Competencies

  • Bsc or Higher national diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, or a relevant field.
  • At least 5 - 8 years of expertise in land surveying, building surveying, or a relevant field.
  • Ability in operating with surveying instruments which includes total stations, Worldwide Positioning Operational structures, and laser scanners.
  • Deep understanding of surveying principles, methods, and tools.
  • Competence in application of mapping software which includes AutoCAD, Geographic information system, Surfer, Excel, Matlab, and other applicable software in making and evaluating mine strategies and maps is desirable
  • Robust mathematical and critical thinking.
  • Good meticulousness and precision in work.
  • Capability to operate within a collaborative environment and convey productively with participants.
  • Physically suit and capable to operate outdoors in various weather terms.
