Position Overview
We are looking for an skilled and meticulous Senior finance executive to head our local finance team and supervise every facet of financial processes within our Nigerian logistics business. The preferred candidate will bring a solid experience from Big Four accounting firms, practical experience coordinating AR, reliable SAP system expertise, and proven competence in team management. Understanding with Nigerian GAAP and tax legal provisions is crucial.
Primary duties
- Head and oversee the local finance team, which includes setting team members' KPIs, while making sure superiority in financial processes, status updates, and adherence.
- Supervise the Outstanding receivables (AR) process, which includes receivables monitoring, collections, client account adjustments, COD (cash on dispatch) adjustments/transaction entries posting, and money movement optimization.
- Ensure precise and prompt end of month and end of year closings, in accordance with Nigerian accounting guidelines (NGAAP) and organisation rules.
- Organize and evaluate every month, every quarter, and yearly financial statements, offering findings to assist strategic strategic judgment.
- Oversee local statutory audits, supervise tax filings, and guarantee adherence with all Nigerian tax legal provisions and rules.
- Act as the SAP key user for the finance operation, making sure information accuracy and process effectiveness inside the system.
- Formulate and track key financial KPIs and offer financial difference assessment with implementable strategic guidance.
- Assist financial planning and predicting methods, partnering with regions and business units.
- Serve as the primary communication link with within and outside the organization auditors, tax advisors, and compliance-related governing bodies.
- Constantly evaluate and enhance internal regulates, risk mitigation strategy, and finance standardized processes.
Qualifications
- Bsc or above in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field; Master of business administration or a member of a professional body (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) preferred.
- At least 8 years of progressive finance expertise, which includes 5+ years in a Finance Manager or Finance Leadership position.
- Big Four accounting firm expertise (e.g., Deloitte, EY, PwC, KPMG) is essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in the logistics, transportation, or stock chain industry is firmly preferred.
- Reliable background in AR management, finance reporting, and business teaming up.
- Robust practical understanding of the SAP Enterprise platform planning system is firmly preferred.
- Deep comprehension of Nigerian accounting guidelines (NGAAP) and tax rules.
- Clear articulation, executive guidance, and stakeholder engagement competencies.
- Initiative-driven, driven, and self-motivated, with the capability to assume responsibility of duty and supply independently without constant monitoring or reminders.
- Fluent in English; Chinese linguistic ability a plus.
