About the Position
- In charge of tools installation, materials loading and offloading process as may be directed from time to time.
- Calculate load capacity, decide weight of items to be moved in engagement to the maximum capacity of crane based on manufacturers requirements.
- Examine clearances, overhead lines, and other possible obstructions to guarantee there are no accidents or loss to employees, buildings, loads, or tools.
- Examine and examines ground terms to guarantee that the crane can be set up safely.
- Operate crane in line with manufacturers specification.
- Examine cranes for faults and wear prior to process; executes necessary repairs or servicing & maintenance.
- Acquire necessary work licenses from Health, safety, and environment (Entry and Lifting Licenses) before entering restricted zones.
- Carry out risk assessment and minimize risks in the course of his position.
- Execute all obligations in a manner that meets Greenville LNG’s Health & Safety qualifications of no harm to persons, loss to the environment and asset.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the tools in addition to carry our minor servicing & maintenance roles which includes greasing and keeping service records.
- Inform the servicing & maintenance team of any mechanical issue with the crane.
- Preserve truck logbook (in kilometres), gas issued document and truck movement description.
- Examine lifting accessories which includes belts, hooks, clamps, wire rope, slings, and shackles and ensure they are suit for objective.
- Adhere with all relevant federal, state, and organisation safety legal provisions, standard procedures, and industry standards.
- Organize with riggers through radio or hand signals to guarantee safe managing/Lifting of loads
- Any other responsibility that may be allocated
Credentials
- At least SSCE with a valid class H driving permit and crane process ability certification.
- At least ten (10) years’ operating expertise in process of truck mounted cranes of up to 200 tons.
- Domain expertise of the different types of cranes and their process, which includes comprehension the load capacity of each crane.
- Physical power and stamina to operate heavy machinery for extended periods, in addition to manage documented guide duty when necessary
- Expertise in reading and interpreting load charts for different crane capacities and settings.
- Making sure the stability of the crane before lifting heavy objects.
- Capability to carry out in-service checks and prioritise roles in line with direct supervisor’s directives.
- Expertise in risk assessment and regulates against accidents which includes overturning, loss of load, load falling on handler, striking overhead cables.
- Good expertise in safe operating standardized processes for slinging and lifting which includes hand signals.
- Data recording and documenting all lifting processes and servicing & maintenance carried out on the crane
Must possess abilities:
Valid Mobile Crane Processes Ability Certification Class H Drivers permit.
