Position Overview

The Tractor driver is in charge of operating and preserving tractors and connected farm or building machinery to execute duty which includes plowing, harrowing, planting, hauling, grading, or clearing land. The position ensures prompt implementation of site processes while conforming to safety, mechanical, and ecological guidelines.

Primary duties

• Operate tractors and associated attachments (plows, harrows, trailers, mowers, graders, etc.) productively and safely.
• Transport goods, tools, or materials within and outside the on-site.
• Execute basic servicing & maintenance checks on tractors before and after use (oil, fuel, hydraulics, tire pressure).
• Documentation mechanical faults promptly to the servicing & maintenance team or manager.
• Ensure safe process around people, animals, and real estate.
• Follow allocated routes, plans, and work orders.
• Adhere with ecological and safety rules in the process and managing of machinery.
• Help with loading and unloading of materials.
• Keep precise records of hours performed and duty finished.
• Engage in learning or safety briefings when necessary.

Credentials and Expertise

• At least SSCE/WAEC or equivalent.
• Demonstrated expertise (2+ years preferred) as a tractor driver or similar heavy machinery handler.
• Valid driving permit and/or tractor operating certification (where relevant).
• Expertise in tractor mechanics and standard procedure servicing.
