IP Network infrastructure engineer at Layer3 in Lagos

About the Position

The IP Network infrastructure engineer will also be in charge of organizing, leading and managing initiatives necessary to fulfil and assist network solutions to enterprise clients. These comprise of the management of current and development of new network structure operational structures, in addition to coordinating system and network management.

Work tasks

• Comprehensive practical engineering level assist on switching and routing technical solutions which includes BGP, OSPF, MPLS/VPLS, spanning tree procedures e.g.; MSTP, RSTP, 802.1x, 802.11, 802.16, VPN, DMVPN, SDN, VRRP/HSRP, WAN Acceleration, QoS, VoIP, VTC, cloud, Automatic control and similar network technical solutions.
• Capability to evaluate and diagnose issues network communications defeats and bottlenecks.
• Capability to evaluate system data records, recognizing possibility concerns and diagnosing issues any reported network challenges
• Switching duty comprise of VTP, ISL/ 802.1q, IPSec and GRE Tunneling, VLANs, Ether Channel, Trunking, Port Guard, STP and RSTP.
• Setup of LAN/WAN/WLAN links using VSI/ L2VC, for MPLS L2VPN will be necessary to be accessible for on-call obligations on a need basis.
• Comprehends and help in technical plans during planning phase, setup and servicing & maintenance of LAN, WAN and wireless networks to guarantee the stability, honesty and reliability and business performance and effectiveness of network solutions.
• Engages during planning phase and setup of internal and/or external networks as necessary for allocated projects.
• Oversee IP/MPLS solutions’ execution covering the system setups, running test & handover.
• Proactively execute corrective servicing & maintenance for IP/MPLS network.
• Formulate automatic control and other internal operational structures and resources to help in the care and feeding of the IP/MPLS network and consolidation initiatives.
• In charge of network organizing, setup, and execution.
• Design and formulate routing topology for Core /Entry/Metro/Edge network infrastructures and for converged data & communications solutions and their effective merging.
• Lead Digital Transformation Schedule using Cloud, Guard, Big-Data, IOT, SDN, SDS, SDWAN, and SDWAN
• Responding to RFQ & getting ready proposals.

Credentials

• Bsc in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Tech or relevant field or its equivalent.
• At least 4 - 5 years related experience in diagnosing issues and coordinating IP networks.
• Practical experience in Cisco, Juniper, Fortigate, Bluecoat is essential.
• A thorough comprehension of network tech and procedures.
• Operating operational structures expertise.
• Improved expertise in cabling organized network.
• Have high level interpersonal verbal abilities.
• Cisco certified network associate or JNCIA accreditation is essential.
