Procurement and Procurement Officer at Vestates Limited in Abuja (FCT)

Position Objective

The Procurement and Procurement Officer will be accountable for managing the procurement, buying, and stock of foodstuffs for the organization. The position ensures cost-efficient procurement of premium quality goods, efficient supplier connection management, and productive stock flow to meet the needs of both dining venue and individual clients.

Supplier & Vendor Management:

• Build and preserve solid connections with dependable suppliers.
• Assess supplier effectiveness routinely based on quality, dispatch, and adherence.
• Onboard new suppliers to enhance quality and reduce expenses.

Stock & Inventory Regulate:

• Work alongside warehouse and sales teams to preserve adequate inventory levels.
• Reduce wastage and spoilage through proper requirement predicting and storage organizing.
• Guarantee promptness replenishment to avoid stockouts.

Cost Management & Adherence:

• Assist the Business and Procurement Manager to formulate and oversee procurement financial plans.
• Guarantee alignment to organisation rules, food safety guidelines, and compliance obligations.
• Track and documentation procurement effectiveness against KPIs like cost savings, supplier dispatch rate, and spoilage levels.

Business & Strategic Assist:

• Offer assistance to streamline procurement methods to improve effectiveness.
• Support to entire corporate plan by aligning procurement decisions with organizational expansion targets.
• Assist sales teams by making sure regular product accessibility.

Credentials & Expertise

• Higher national diploma or Bsc in Procurement, Stock Chain Management, Business Management, or relevant field.
• A member of a professional body (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
• At least 1-3 years’ expertise in procurement, ideally in FMCG, agriculture, or food allocation.
• Solid understanding of Nigerian food markets, goods pricing, and stock chain dynamics.
• Proven bargain, logical, and vendor leadership abilities.
• Understanding with procurement software/Enterprise platform planning operational structures is a plus.
• Capability to speak Hausa is a plus.
