Role description
The Top level Officer, Business Development will play a strategic position in pushing AYGF’s asset mobilization, long-term alliances, and donor relation endeavors. The role is in charge of recognizing financing avenues, top proposal development, nurturing donor and work collaboratively connections, and making sure alignment of business development initiatives with the company’s purpose, targets, and thematic key focuses. The position requires clear articulation, relationship building, logical, and proposal skilled in writing.
Primary duties
- Head and organize the development of premium quality idea notes and proposals.
- Collaborate with programme and finance teams to guarantee technical and financial plan adherence with donor qualifications.
- Preserve a pipeline of upcoming donor avenues in sync with AYGF’s concentration zones.
- Develop and preserve solid connections with current and potential donors which includes two-party, multi-party, corporate, and foundation associates.
- Organize consistent relation sessions, donor status reports, and status updates in partnership Programs teams.
- Stand for AYGF at external sessions, donor forums, and relationship building events.
- Support to the development and implementation of AYGF’s capital raising plan.
- Recognize and track emerging practices and avenues during the formation and humanitarian sectors.
- Collaborate with internal teams to guarantee cross-unit-specific synchronization on business development programs.
- Assist development and training of employees on proposal drafting and donor adherence.
- Preserve a central DB of financing avenues, proposals, donor intelligence, and status updates due dates.
- Guarantee promptness entry of idea notes, proposals, and documentation to donors and associates.
Credentials and Expertise
- Bachelor's degree International Development, Community-related Sciences, Business Management, or relevant field. MSC preferred.
- At least 7 years’ expertise in a similar position inside the NGO/INGO sector.
- Established history of winning grants from institutional donors.
- Exhibited competencies in proposal drafting, financial planning, donor status updates, and participant relation.
- Deep knowledge of development and humanitarian programming in Africa.
- Clear articulation, drafting, and people skills.
- Robust logical, strategic thinking, and project synchronization abilities.
- Competence in Office productivity software and applicable CRM or grants tracking resources.
