Group Head Risk Officer - Energy & Cement Industry at a Leading African Conglomerate - Adexen Recruitment Agency in Lagos

Duties

This is a strategic executive function, joining compliance and guarantee with practical assist to processes. The position requires in-depth understanding of enterprise risk mitigation strategy, robust expertise in the energy/petroleum sector sector, and the capability to promote a risk-conscious culture while empowering the Group’s growth schedule.

Compliance & Adherence:

• Formulate and ensure adherence to risk-associated rules in sync with international industry standards (ISO 31000, COSO, IIA guidelines).
• Organize with Audit, Health, safety, and environment, Adherence, and Finance to guarantee an holistic method to risk.
• Supervise internal guarantee initiatives, which includes risk-based assessments, audits, and adherence evaluations.
• Guarantee alignment to compliance-related and binding qualifications in all jurisdictions of process.

Culture & Ability Building:

• Advance a robust risk and guarantee culture across the Group.
• Head development and consciousness programs to embed risk mitigation strategy procedures within business units.
• Build and train a top-performing risk and guarantee team.

Expertise:

• At least 15 - 20 years’ expertise, with significant exposure to the petroleum sector, energy, or large-scale industrial sectors.
• Established history of top enterprise risk mitigation strategy or guarantee processes at executive level.
• Reliable expertise in Health, safety, and environment, legal adherence, project risk, and financial risk frameworks.
• Expertise operating across African or other emerging markets highly preferred.
