Position Overview

The Credit Officer is in charge of analyzing loan applications, evaluating the creditworthiness of possibility borrowing recipients, coordinating the loan project sample, and making sure prompt repayment. Primary duties

• Recognize, screen, and hire possibility borrowing recipients from individuals, groups, or businesses.
• Carry out credit appraisals and evaluate loan applications to decide viability and creditworthiness.
• Show loan applications to the credit board for authorization.
• Disburse authorized loans and ensure proper recordkeeping and customer comprehension of terms.
• Track and oversee the loan project sample to reduce delinquency and default.
• Check in on repayments, send reminders, and start recovery standardized processes for overdue loans.
• Preserve precise customer records and modify loan files routinely.
• Teach customers on in charge borrowing and financial literacy.

Credentials & Expertise

• Certification or Bsc in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business Management, or a relevant field.
• 1–3 years of expertise in a credit-relevant position, ideally in a microfinance institution, SACCO, or bank.
• Expertise in credit evaluation methods and lending standardized processes.
• Expertise in project sample management and customer supervising.
• Robust logical and risk evaluation competencies.
