Position Objective
The Workplace safety and wellness Officer is in charge of conceptualizing, executing, and preserving efficient health, safety, and ecological programs across our agricultural processes, dairy processing unit, and flour and feed milling facilities. The position ensures adherence with work-related safety guidelines, reduces risks linked to heavy machinery, dust, chemicals, and biological risks, and encourages an environment that fosters safety among employees and service providers.
Primary duties
- Formulate, execute, and track Health, safety, and environment rules and standardized processes tailored to agricultural, dairy, and milling processes.
- Carry out standard procedure safety inspections of factories, warehouses, silos, farms, and generation zones to recognize risks which includes dust, noise, machinery, and chemical exposure.
- Carry out risk evaluations and endorse preventive and corrective measures.
- Explore accidents, incidents, and near-misses; organize thorough documentation and check in on corrective actions.
- Guarantee adherence possessing applicable work-related workplace safety and wellness legal provisions, food safety guidelines, and ecological rules.
- Educate employees on safe managing of machinery, PPE usage, fire safety, first assist, and chemical/material managing.
- Track and ensure adherence to safe work procedures in elevated-risk zones which includes feed mills (dust explosion risks), dairy processing (chemical cleaning agents), and farms (animal managing and pesticide use).
- Organize crisis drills and response strategies, which includes fire, dust explosion, machinery accidents, and medical crises.
- Preserve precise safety records, assessment data records, and development registers.
- Coordinate with government compliance-related agencies, auditors, and coverage bodies on regulatory adherence matters.
- Advance ongoing development in office safety culture through employee relation and consciousness marketing.
Credentials & Competencies
- Bsc or certification in Work-related Health & Safety, Ecological Science, Agriculture Engineering, Food Science, or a relevant field.
- Specialist qualifications which includes (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or ISO 45001 Head Audit officer) are highly preferred.
- At least 3–5 years’ expertise in workplace safety and wellness management within agriculture, food processing, milling, or production operations industries.
- Solid understanding of risks specific to agriculture and milling industries (e.g., dust explosions, machinery entanglement, chemical use, biological risks).
- Clear articulation, development, and management abilities.
- Robust logical, status updates, and issue resolution abilities.
- Competence in MS Workspace and safety management software/resources.

Operating Terms:
