Health, safety, and environment Officer at Enugu Electricity Distribution Company in Ogui, Enugu

Duties

• Check adherence with work codes and safety rules.
• Ensure accessibility/servicing & maintenance of First Assist boxes and consistent offering of necessary kits for the use by employees.
• Engage in work-related health safety program for the prevention of industrial, motor vehicle and/or office accidents.
• Carry out periodic Assessment on MainPower facilities, tools and work-in-advancement to decide possibility for hazard and advise in-field corrections of flagrant safety violations and hazardous terms.
• Carry out toolbox sessions at the District Workspace and Service Centres.
• Coordinate with Chief Health, safety, and environment/Health, safety, and environment Manager on standardized processes for accident prevention & documentation all accidents.
• Track and ensure adherence to usage of Personal Protective Tools/wears at the District.
• Ensure Fire extinguishers are accessible, preserved & strategically placed in Mainpower workspaces/Injection substations at the District.
• Collation of Fire Tools DB at the District.
• Arrange safety induction development for new employees, IT Students and youth corps members attached to Mainpower at the District.
• Placement of safety stickers/posters and safety consciousness items for information distribution at the district.
• Ensure proper Ecological management which includes application of Herbicides, Weeding, Pest regulate and fumigation in the Mainpower premises & Injection substations.
• Ensure Good Room maintenance services is practiced in Mainpower Workspaces and Injection substations.
• Ensure proper Waste management in Mainpower premises and Injection substations.
• Carry out Public Consciousness Safety Marketing at the district.

Qualifications

• bachelor's in engineering / Higher national diploma / Bachelor's degree (Engineering)
• Must possess General Health, safety, and environment and Health, safety, and environment Oversight LEVEL 3 Certification
• At least 3 years work expertise (Post service)  Age: 30 – 40 years
