Position Overview

The Legal executive will supervise lawful affairs, prepare and evaluate agreements, ensure legal adherence, and assist BOWDI’s support endeavors on gender rights, protection, and development. This position requires solid understanding of Nigerian legal provisions, outstanding composing competencies, and a enthusiasm for community influence.

Primary duties

• Offer counsel and assist on survivors wellbeing.
• Prepare, evaluate, and analyze agreements, MoUs, and other lawful documents.
• Guarantee adherence with Nigerian legal provisions, compliance obligations, and donor standard procedures.
• Assist regulatory framework development, safeguarding frameworks, and compliance systems.
• Stand for the company in lawful proceedings as required.
• Assist support and lawful consciousness programs, especially around women’s rights and protection.
• Preserve current statutory records and guarantee promptness filings possessing applicable governing bodies.
• Offer learning employees on adherence, agreements, and corporate rules.

Credentials & Requirement

• Bachelor of Legal provisions (LL.B) Academic qualification from a identified institution.
• Must hold an active and valid permit to practice law in Nigeria (Nigerian Bar Affiliation membership).
• At least 3–5 years post-call expertise in lawful practice or as an in-house advisor (NGO/Development sector expertise a plus).
• Solid understanding of corporate, work, and NGO compliance-related legal provisions in Nigeria.
• Expertise in composing, vetting, and coordinating agreements.
• Comprehend GBV survivor centered approach.
• Exhibited dedication to human rights, gender equality, and community-related justice.
• Clear articulation, analysis, and bargaining ability.
• High level of honesty and reliability, discretion, and competence.
