Position Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and logical Credit Evaluator to evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses submitting application for loans or credit facilities. The position includes evaluating financial data, getting ready credit documentation, endorsing credit limits, and assisting risk mitigation strategy decisions to reduce bad debt exposure while empowering business expansion.
Primary duties
- Assess customers’ credit data, balance sheet and income statement, and payment record to evaluate risk.
- Carry out insight-driven evaluation of borrowing recipients’ creditworthiness.
- Organize clear, precise, and complete credit documentation and strategic guidance.
- Track current accounts for early signs of financial distress and report to higher support tier as required.
- Endorse and evaluate credit limits, loan systems, and repayment terms.
- Work alongside business development and risk teams to balance credit risk with commercial opportunities.
- Guarantee adherence with internal credit rules, compliance obligations, and industry guidelines.
- Preserve current expertise in economic practices, market terms, and industry risks.
- Assist project sample risk supervising and offer statistics-driven findings for executive review.
- Engage in credit board discussions and offer specialist strategic guidance.
Credentials & Qualifications
- Bsc in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, or relevant field.
- Specialist qualifications (e.g., ACA, CFA, ACCA, ICAN, or CIBN) are a desirable asset.
- Demonstrated expertise (2–5 years) as a Credit Evaluator, Risk Evaluator, or relevant position in banking, financial technology, or corporate credit.
- Solid understanding of financial report evaluation, credit principles, and lending procedures.
- Competence in financial forecasting, Excel spreadsheet software, and credit evaluation resources.
- Outstanding logical, issue resolution, and strategic judgment competencies.
- Robust documented and spoken communication competencies with the capability to organize and show documentation.
- High meticulousness, honesty and reliability, and capability to operate under pressure.
