Design Architect at H&Y Furniture Manufacturers in Lekki, Lagos

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Design Architect to join our agile team and support to the formation of unique furniture designs that mix capability, beauty therapy, and long-term viability.

Primary duties

• Work alongside the design team to envision and formulate furniture designs that convey the essence of organisation's corporate identity identity and industry trends.
• Produce thorough technical drawings, 3D models, and renderings to productively articulate visual ideas to the production operations team.
• Analysis emerging market trends, materials, and production operations methods to integrate creative creative thoughts into furniture designs.
• Formulate prototypes and mock-ups to test and confirm visual strategies, making sure practicality and capability.
• Collaborate with the generation team to guarantee smooth transition from design to production operations, offering technical direction as needed.
• Guarantee adherence with building codes, industry guidelines, and ergonomic and safety factors in all designs.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to select appropriate materials, finishes, and hardware, balancing cost, quality, and long-term viability.
• Engage in design evaluate sessions, presenting findings to enhance designs and streamline manufacturing workflows.
• Oversee delivery schedules to guarantee design outputs meet established due dates.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or MSC in Architecture or a relevant field.
• 3 - 5 years’ expertise in furniture design, ideally in a production operations environment.
• Competence in CAD software which includes AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Rhino for technical drawings and Three-dimensional rendering.
• Robust aesthetic sensibility and meticulousness, with the capability to balance form and operation in designs.
• Deep understanding of materials, finishes, and production operations methods used in furniture generation.
• Understanding with long-term viability principles and a dedication to eco-friendly design procedures.
• Clear articulation and partnership competencies to communicate visual strategies productively to cross-operational teams.
• Robust project coordination competencies, which includes assignment prioritization, delivering consistently, and adjusting to continuously adapting project qualifications.
