Medical Lab technician at Royal Care Specialist Hospital in Abuja (FCT)

Position Overview

The Medical Lab technician is in charge of executing standard procedure and expert laboratory tests, processing, and making sure the safe managing and storage of blood and blood goods in the blood bank. The position holder will be participated with critical duty connected with blood typing, crossmatching, blood donation screening, and preserving precise records of all blood-associated solutions.

Duties Central tasks:

• Blood Donation Processing and Screening
• Blood Typing and Crossmatching
• Transfusion Assist and Management
• Help in Laboratory Running test and Evaluation
• Recordkeeping and Adherence
• Safety and QA
• Partnership and Information exchange

Other Duties:

• Executes chemical, biological, and physical tests on materials to decide that guidelines are fulfilled.
• Accept urine, collect blood or other samples for innovative experiment and evaluation.
• Organize standard volumetric initiatives or reagents to be integrated with specimens
• Preserve tools and help in ordering laboratory inventory.
• Make sure that all safety standard procedures are followed firmly at all times and preserve a clean and orderly environment.
• Designing and carrying out laboratory running test according standard standardized processes
• Document all data and outcomes in specified forms paper and electronic with precision and duty.
• Oversee and operate laboratory tools.
• Test blood, urine and other body fluids.
• Assess test outcomes and organize documentation.
• Preserve laboratory QA and safety guidelines.

Qualifications / Credentials

• Education: Medical Lab technician Certification, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a relevant field
• A minimum of 1 year of applicable professional background
• Necessary: registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria
• Proximity To operate Place
• Schedule control and planning abilities
• Document keeping competencies
• Capability to keep information private
• Good listening and verbal abilities
• Logical and analytical abilities
• Patience, flexibility, reliability
• Expertise in the use and process of laboratory tools which includes microscopes etc.
• Practical understanding of MS Workspace especially Excel and DB systems
• Capability to operate autonomously and under pressure
• Executes standard procedure servicing & maintenance on laboratory tools, and inventories and orders necessary inventory.
• Helps in the development of new laboratory staff.
• Sustains records and arranges documentation and correspondence connected with the work.
