Role Overview
- We are looking for a highly proficient and skilled Medical laboratory technologist to join our diagnostic team in Abuja.
- The preferred candidate will possess robust competence in clinical laboratory methods, quality assurance, and modern diagnostic tools process.
- They must be dedicated to supplying precise, prompt, and dependable test outcomes to assist premium quality patient care.
Primary duties
- Execute a variety of diagnostic laboratory tests (haematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, parasitology, and serology).
- Collect, process, and evaluate biological samples in adherence with standard operating standardized processes (SOPs).
- Operate, preserve, and calibrate laboratory tools (e.g., automated analysers, microscopes, spectrophotometers).
- Ensure full compliance to QA and regulate procedures.
- Analyze and confirm test outcomes, and convey findings to clinicians.
- Preserve precise laboratory records, data records, and documentation.
- Oversee and train entry-level laboratory employees or internship as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to laboratory safety guidelines, infection regulate, and waste disposal standardized processes.
- Engage in periodic audits, competence running test, and certification methods.
- Keep current with ongoing laboratory industry standards and emerging diagnostic technical solutions.
Credentials & Qualifications
- Education: Bsc in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from an accredited institution.
- Accreditation: Ongoing permit with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Expertise: At least 3–5 years post-service experience expertise in a reputable clinical laboratory.
- Solid understanding of laboratory safety and standards oversight operational structures (ISO 15189 is a plus).
- Competence in managing automated laboratory tools and documented guide methods.
- Outstanding meticulousness, issue resolution, and critical thinking.
- Effective communication and people skills.
- Capability to operate under pressure and supply outcomes within tight due dates.
Preferred Competencies:
- Expertise with Laboratory Information Management Operational structures (LIMS).
- Understanding with molecular diagnostics (PCR, RT-PCR, LAMP) is a plus.
- Supervisory expertise in a multi-disciplinary lab setting.
