About the Position
- We are seeking a proficient and meticulous Pharmaceutical technician to assist our pharmacy processes.
- The successful applicant will help the pharmacy professional in dispensing medications, coordinating stock, counselling patients on proper drug use, and making sure adherence with compliance guidelines.
- The position requires precision, effective communication competencies, and a robust sense of duty in managing medicines.
Primary duties
- Help the pharmacy professional in getting ready, wrapping, and dispensing prescription and over-the-counter medications.
- Confirm prescriptions for precision and thoroughness before processing.
- Offer basic medication counselling to patients under the oversight of a pharmacy professional.
- Oversee pharmacy stock, which includes ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and inventory.
- Label medications with accurate dosage directions and usage alerts.
- Preserve precise patient medication records and modify them as necessary.
- Track drug storage terms to guarantee adherence with safety and quality benchmarks.
- Help with invoicing, processing payments, and preserving routine sales records.
- Assist the pharmacy professional in making sure legal adherence with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) and other applicable governing bodies.
- Preserve cleanliness and orderliness in the pharmacy environment.
Credentials & Qualifications
- Education: Pharmaceutical technician Certification from an accredited institution.
- Accreditation: Ongoing permit/registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
- Expertise: At least 3 years of related experience in a hospital pharmacy.
- Expertise in drug names, dosage forms, and basic pharmacology.
- Effective communication and people skills.
- Robust meticulousness and precision in document-keeping.
- Capability to operate with guidance and as part of a healthcare team.
Preferred Competencies:
- Expertise with pharmacy management software or POS operational structures.
- Basic expertise in pharmaceutical rules and regulated drug managing.
- Client support competencies with a patient-centered approach.
