Head of Party, REACH Malaria at PATH Nigeria in Abuja Project Office

Explanation

The Company for Creative invention in Community health (OIPH, PATH’s local affiliate in Nigeria) looks for a Head of Party for the USAID-financed “Reaching Every Vulnerable Group and Household with Malaria Solutions” (PMI REACH Malaria) worldwide project. REACH goals to offer execution aid offerings and technical support to countries to accelerate advancement in complete dispatch of facility and locally-driven malaria solutions, which includes malaria case management, prevention of malaria in pregnancy (MiP), seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC), health operational structures strengthening, data collection and use for service dispatch, and other malaria prevention interventions.  The Head of Party (CoP) will answer to the Assistant Project Director for PMI REACH Malaria and is in charge of managing and assisting execution of all key project initiatives, with emphasis on premium quality results and adherence with USAID requests. The CoP is also in charge of entire strategic development and monitoring, project M&E, and general programme management. The CoP will also offer monitoring and management executive guidance for OIPH, managing endeavors with other PATH-helped project teams in Nigeria to guarantee alignment, advocating PATH with government institutions, donors, international and local Nonprofit organizations, and managing with PATH’s Africa Regional executive guidance. These obligations will comprise up to 20% LOE. 

Duties

• Act as the project's primary communication link with the USG Purpose in Nigeria, international and regional associates in Nigeria, and organizer-country government authorities. 
• Oversee project employees, which includes e.g. the Nigeria Top level Technical consultant(s) and the MEL Manager, making sure that they are successfully coordinating project initiatives and delivering outputs. 
• Start and oversee efficient cooperative strategic collaborations. 
• Supervise yearly country assignment organizing and periodic status updates to guarantee premium quality and on-time completion of goods. 
• Support to the design of project M&E operational structures and to consistent project reviews to evaluate advancement and endorse initiatives. 
• Stand for the project at periodic sessions with participants to documentation on organized initiatives and actions, which includes execution status. 
• Ensure proper finance Management of PMI REACH Malaria initiatives in country, operating with country workspace teams through evaluating financial data, supervising project expenditures against financial plans, and predicting, with assist from the Finance and Management Employees.  
• Track and guarantee adherence with PMI REACH Malaria agreement and PATH rules, recognize and productively convey any adherence risks.  
• Coordinate with PATH Guard Head to track and ensure guard of project employees and processes 
• Work alongside the PMI REACH Malaria Top level Technical consultant and other team members with mastery in diagnostics, maternal, newborn and child health, data and digital health, for their technical inputs into project outputs and activity strategies.  
• Collaborate with applicable participants, which includes ministries of health, universities, Nonprofit organizations, civil society, and private sector associates in managing activity execution. 
• Organize the development of technical documents, which includes Standard Operating Standardized processes (SOPs), resources, checklists, standard procedures for development and skills development of employees as needed. 
• Organize country buy-in organizing and evaluate sessions to track advancement of execution of interventions and ensure synchronization between programme team and external participants. 
• Assist in the formation of demonstrations for status reports and sessions.  
• Stand for OIPH and PATH in externally facing spaces; oversee connections with government officials and other participants.  
• Organize endeavors with other PATH-helped projects in Nigeria to guarantee alignment across the PATH project sample.  
• Offer monitoring to the entire processes and finance Management of the workspace. 
• Guarantee adherence with all organizer country lawful, binding, work and statutory qualifications. 
• Make sure that country processes are regular with OIPH and PATH values and management rules and standard procedures, and that processes are operated to assurance prompt and cost-efficient implementation. 

Qualifications

• MSC with fifteen (15) years of work expertise in community health, international development or a relevant field. 
• A minimum of ten (10) years of expertise in coordinating multi-million-dollar health programs in Nigeria and/or conceptualizing countries, which includes expertise and domain expertise in malaria. 
• A minimum of five (5) years of expertise (out of 10 years) should be as a COP or top level site leadership background which includes Project Director, Regional Director, or Country Director positions. 
• Exhibited capability to head and oversee technical teams and multi-work collaboratively cooperative projects, with deep understanding of conceptualizing country government operational structures. 
• Understanding with participants in the malaria solutions space, which includes malaria case management, prevention of MiP, SMC, surveillance, data collection and use for service dispatch. 
• Exhibited success operating with USG, executing associates, institutions at the national and regional level, local nongovernmental entities, and locally-driven entities and systems in Nigeria. 
• Robust issue resolution, planning abilities, and a positive, results-driven approach to hurdles. 
• Robust finance Management competencies, which includes expertise in financial planning and tracking financials.  
• Outstanding logical, visual communication, and documentation skilled in writing.  
• Remarkable abilities in facilitation, team building, and synchronization.  
• Extremely meticulous, with the capability to convey productively and succinctly, both orally and in drafting. 
• Dedicated attitude, resourcefulness, honesty and reliability, credibility, and commitment to PATH’s purpose.  
• Occupational skill in English necessary.  
• Competence with Ms office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) necessary. 
• Applicants must be based in and certified to operate in Nigeria. 
• Capability to commute up to 30 percent in-country; limited international commute anticipated.
