Role description

The Government affairs (GR) Director will be in charge of building and preserving solid connections with compliance-related bodies, policymakers, and regulatory bodies to assist the bank’s business targets. The position includes responsibility for supervising compliance-related progress updates and making sure adherence. The GR Director will serve as a strategic enabler for Renmoney’s growth goals, which includes securing a national permit, initiating new goods and assisting geographical growth by proactively compelling authorities to remove obstacles.

Support & Shape:

  • Formulate and implement support plans to shape compliance-related and regulatory framework results in the bank’s Favour.
  • Organize role papers, summaries, and demonstrations for entry to policymakers.
  • Engage in discussions to offer input on prepare rules and industry reforms.

Internal Consultative:

  • Offer frequent updates to senior management on political, economic, and compliance-related practices.
  • Engage in business organizing sessions to recognize compliance-related implications early in product and market entry plans.
  • Advise on targeted advantage and risks emerging from government actions.
  • Assist product launches and growth strategies with compliance-related relation.

Crisis & Concerns Management:

  • Serve as a key reach out point for government affairs during crises.
  • Organize response plans in conditions including compliance-related disputes or public regulatory framework matters.
  • Head compliance-related relation during high-effect events, which includes compliance-related inspections, product adherence queries, or business disputes, making sure minimal business disruption.

Qualifications

  • Bsc in law, Political Science, Public Regulatory framework, Economics, or relevant field (MSC is a plus).
  • 10+ years of expertise in government affairs, compliance-related affairs, or public regulatory framework in banking, financial technology, or telecoms.
  • Deep knowledge of Nigeria’s financial compliance structure and political landscape.
  • Demonstrated expertise interacting with top level government authorities and industry bodies.
