Cake Bakery chef and Decorator at The Foodhub by CWC in Lagos

Position Overview

The Cake Bakery chef and Decorator is in charge of getting ready, baking, and decorating cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods according to established recipes, quality benchmarks, and client requirements. This position requires creativeness, meticulousness, and a deep knowledge of baking methods, food safety, and visual communication beauty therapy.

Primary duties

• Measure, blend, and bake cakes and other pastries according to recipes and generation plans.
• Organize cake layers, fillings, frostings, and other dessert parts.
• Modify recipes or baking methods as required to preserve standards and uniformity.
• Design and decorate cakes for birthdays, weddings, and other special occasions based on client requests or organisation guidelines.
• Use piping, fondant, edible paints, and other decorating methods to attain wanted designs.
• Verify that every finished goods meet visual communication and quality qualifications.
• Track ingredient stock and inform management when restocking is essential.
• Properly store ingredients and baked goods to preserve freshness and avoid spoilage.
• Preserve a clean and structured desk at all times.
• Follow food safety and hygiene rules.
• Carry out consistent checks to guarantee baking tools is functioning properly.

Qualifications

• At least SSCE
• 1–3 years of expertise in a specialist baking and cake decorating environment.
• Demonstrated expertise as a bakery chef and cake designer.
• Solid understanding of baking methods, cake framework, and decorating resources.
• Creativeness and artistic ability in designing cakes.
• Meticulousness and capability to operate to due dates.
• Comprehension of food safety guidelines (HACCP expertise is a plus).
• Certification/Certification in Baking, Pastry Arts, or relevant field (preferred but not required).
