The candidate will execute the technical initiatives connected with M&E and serve as a key point of reach out for data collection and aggregation that aids project status updates and will offer inputs to guide project strategic judgment.
Programme Overview
Nigeria’s 200 million population creates an estimated 32 million metric tons of waste yearly, with plastic accounting for 2.5 million metric tons. The Plastics Recycling Programme in Southern Nigeria (PReP), initiated as the Nigeria Plastic Initiatives Alliance Programme (NPSAP), a two-year project financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Coca-Cola Foundation. However, in year 2, USAID pulled out and the project transitioned to PReP with a amended scope of work. Building on the successes of PReP, the project is expanding to PReP 2.0, now encompassing an additional site: Kano State. The goal of the project is to reduce plastic waste by rising the volume and quality of recycled PET plastics. This goal will be accomplished through welcoming, market-driven interventions along the full operational cycle and an empowering environment that will enhance the attractiveness, long-term viability, and profit margin of collectors, aggregators, and recyclers.
