Primary duties
- Head and/or support to viability assessments, evaluations, and reviews connected with agricultural and livestock interventions;
- Establish execution modalities in meeting with the FSL Technical team, covering zones which includes recipient recognition and registration, allocation, development, consciousness, and supervising for agricultural and livelihood initiatives;
- Work alongside the Program Manager and sector directs to establish the project intervention plan;
- Formulate costed strategies for agricultural initiatives and ensure their efficient execution in close synchronization with the Program Manager;
- Oversee and oversee employees participated in agricultural and livestock initiatives, which includes Agriculture and Veterinary Officers, while assisting hiring process endeavors under the SO3 part as needed;
- Ensure the adoption of creative and climate-resilient agricultural procedures while supervising compliance to operate strategies and technical standard procedures;
- Work alongside the Monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning Manager to establish a strong M&E, Responsibility, and Learning (Monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning) system and recipient assist mechanisms;
- Advance gender-sensitive approaches and actively engage women and youth in agricultural development and livelihood assist programs;
- Support to the project setup of technical and business documents for information exchange and lesson capitalization;
- Track milestone tracking, recognize zones for advancement, and endorse course corrections as necessary;
- Offer technical and business assist to site teams for agriculture and livestock-associated initiatives;
- Assist the development of initiatives advancement documentation for the programme team in addition to support to the development of donor documentation;
- Ensure synergy between the agriculture and livestock sector and other project parts to enhance effectiveness;
- Oversee the agricultural initiatives financial plan, making sure adherence with organizational guidelines in close partnership with the Program Manager;
- Work alongside the Consortium Monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning Manager to establish a M&E (Monitoring and evaluation) strategy for agriculture interventions;
- Track results indicators and handle any variances by proposing initiatives to the Program Manager;
- Guarantee promptness and quality status updates for all agricultural and livestock initiatives, feeding into within and outside the organization documentation;
- Assist the Programme Manager to Strategize Evaluate, modify, and oversee the financial plan which includes FSL associated client engagement on initiatives routinely and distribute possessing applicable team Action Against Hunger employees members;
- Support to mapping applicable external participants and developing rapport;
- Formulate and sustain connections with government bodies, civil society, and humanitarian associates operating in the target zones;
- Stand for Action Against Hunger at external sessions with government bodies, civil society, and international participants;
- Actively open doors to distribute key messages and advance climate-resilient agricultural procedures;
- Guarantee adherence with RESILAC’s information exchange and visibility procedures during external depiction;
- Oversee and offer technical direction to the Agriculture Officer and Veterinary Officer, making sure they work jointly to attain project targets;
- Head the skills development of project employees, local extension workers, and group key stakeholders, making sure they are equipped with the expertise and resources to execute maintainable agricultural procedures;
- Convey Action Against Hunger effectiveness guidelines and requirements to team members which comprises; 10 minutes every month conversation, 3 months/end of probation work assessment, and yearly/ end of agreement evaluation;
- Establish effectiveness targets, offer input, and recognize advantages and zones for specialist advancement.
Role Qualifications
- Bsc in Agriculture, Agriculture Tech/Engineering, Agronomy, Veterinary, or associated fields;
- At least 4 years of expertise in food guard, livelihoods, Agro/livestock-associated interventions, and climate adjustment projects;
- Robust computer literacy, corporate and organizing competencies, documentation drafting, and financial plan monitoring;
- Dedication to upholding Action Against Hunger’s values, and outstanding interpersonal and verbal abilities;
- Expertise in the INGO/NGO and humanitarian circumstance;
- Expertise coordinating a team of employees.
