Sous Cook at a Renowned and Rapidly Expanding Restaurant - Startup Soar (Recruitment Services) in Wuse 2, Abuja (FCT)

Role summary

• We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Sous Cook to join our culinary team.
• The preferred candidate will assist the Chief Cook in coordinating daily kitchen processes, preserving food quality, and directing employees.
• This position requires culinary creativeness, effective guidance, and the capability to operate productively in a dynamic setting.

Primary duties

• Help the Chief Cook in monitoring kitchen processes and monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning project setup
• Oversee and organize kitchen employees to guarantee smooth process and productivity
• Verify that every dishes meet the dining venue's guidelines for taste, quality, and visual communication
• Oversee stock, ordering, and proper storage of ingredients and inventory
• Ensure adherence to rigid hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety procedures
• Educate, train, and assess entry-level kitchen employees
• Work alongside front-of-house teams to guarantee prompt and smooth service
• Track kitchen tools and ensure proper servicing & maintenance and cleanliness
• Engage in menu organizing, recipe development, and food expense management
• Documentation kitchen effectiveness status reports and matters to the Chief Cook.

Qualifications

• OND, Higher national diploma, or Academic qualification in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a relevant field (preferred)
• 3 - 5 years of expertise as a Sous Cook or similar position in a dining venue or hospitality setting
• Effective guidance and team synchronization competencies
• Outstanding culinary expertise, which includes modern cooking methods and food safety guidelines
• Capability to deliver under pressure and preserve composure in a dynamic environment
• Sharp perception for description and high guidelines of food visual communication
• Clear expression and time-management abilities
• Specialist demeanor and neat personal appearance
• Required location Abuja (ideally close to or within Wuse 2).
