Position summary

This is a full-time hybrid position for an Embedded linux field & IoT Engineer, located in Abuja with some WFH adaptive schedule. We are looking for a highly proficient Embedded linux field & IoT Engineer to assist the optimisation and production operations of ecoWise’s comprehensive embedded linux field.

Primary duties

  • Assist production operations, running test of embedded hardware (sensors, microcontrollers, data purchase operational structures)
  • Assist PCB dispatch, part selection and purchase, and consolidation for devices.
  • Guarantee adherence possessing applicable energy metering, electrical safety, and ecological guidelines.
  • Formulate, test, and optimise embedded firmware for instantaneous data capture, storage, and transmission.
  • Execute procedures for data encryption, error managing, and failover mechanisms.
  • Ensure dependable, secure data streaming from remote solar system setups to the ecoWise cloud operational base.
  • Assist the consolidation of AI/ML models and edge processing capabilities to reduce cloud dependency.
  • Establish Quality assurance procedures to guarantee precision, reliability, and guard of all embedded linux field.
  • Carry out site field experiments to confirm effectiveness under multifaceted ecological terms.
  • Collaborate with cross-operational teams (software, product, processes) to align embedded initiatives with ecoWise’s business targets.
  • Expertise with instantaneous operating operational structures (RTOS) for embedded applications.
  • Execute Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms for instantaneous strategic judgment and automatic control.
  • Formulate and evaluate circuit schematics, PCB layouts, and embedded system designs.
  • Compose and enhance firmware for microcontrollers (ARM, ESP32, STM32, etc.) and embedded hardware.
  • Combine wireless information exchange procedures (LoRa, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5G)
  • Carry out hardware diagnosing, running test, and diagnosing issues of embedded linux field.
  • Work alongside software engineers to combine an AI-driven Web app

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or MSC in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a relevant field requiring at least two (2) years of practical experience.
  • Competence in Python, C/C++, and embedded firmware programming.
  • Expertise with AI/ML frameworks which includes TensorFlow, PyTorch, or OpenCV.
  • Practical experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, and embedded processing channels
  • Capability to diagnose issues and troubleshoot embedded linux field at both software & hardware levels
  • Established history in IoT product development from idea to deploying.
  • Competence with microcontroller channels (ARM Cortex, ESP32, STM32, etc.) and development resources.
  • ess procedures (LoRa, NB-IoT, LTE-M, Zigbee, etc.) and cloud IoT solutions (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT).
  • Expertise in carbon credit MRV methods, sustainable energy supervising, or industrial IoT is a plus.
  • Capability to operate both independently and jointly in a hybrid work environment
  • Outstanding analytical abilities and meticulousness
  • Prior expertise in climate tech or sustainable energy sectors is advantageous.
