Bridge Engineer at Jamub Group of Companies in Abuja (FCT)

Position Overview

The Bridge Engineer will be in charge of the design, building, and servicing & maintenance of bridge systems. The incumbent will supervise all stages of bridge projects, from starting evaluation and organizing to concluding implementation and assessment, making sure adherence with engineering guidelines and safety rules.

Primary duties

• Formulate complete bridge designs and strategies, contemplating factors which includes framework stability, material requirements, and ecological consequence.
• Carry out on-site surveys and viability assessments to evaluate the requirement of current bridges and decide the need for repairs or replacements.
• Organize with a cross-functional team to guarantee smooth project implementation, which includes partnership with architects, surveyors, and building service providers.
• Execute load evaluation and calculations using applicable software and engineering principles to assurance the stability and safety of bridge systems.
• Produce thorough project documentation, which includes budget forecasts, material requirements, and building timelines.
• Track building advancement and offer technical direction to building teams, dealing with any concerns that may arise during the execution stage.
• Carry out consistent inspections and reviews of finished bridge projects to confirm adherence with industry guidelines and safety rules.
• Stay informed on the latest improvement in bridge engineering and building structured approaches to combine creative strategies into project designs.
• Work alongside regulatory bodies and compliance-related bodies to guarantee compliance to lawful qualifications and acquire necessary licenses for bridge building and servicing & maintenance.
• Execute other obligations as allocated.

Necessary Credentials

• Bsc in civil engineering or a relevant field; MSC preferred.
• 7+ years of expertise in Hydraulic Hydrological engineering, civil and construction activities, and designs. (Expertise operating on mid to large-scale highway/railway projects is a plus
• COREN Engineer permit is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in bridge engineering, design, and building.
• Robust competence in load evaluation software, CAD resources, and MIDAS Civil.
• Clear articulation competencies and capability to work alongside productively with cross-functional teams.
• Deep understanding of industry rules and safety guidelines connected with bridge building.
