Site Supervisors - Quantitative Survey at Malaria Consortium in Kebbi

Objective of the Task

The objective of the task is to participate analysis advisors that will carry out quantitative surveys of an hybrid vaccination timetable with different dispatch approaches.

Scope of Task

The entire goal of this consultancy is to assist MC in creating evidence for an efficient hybrid model of malaria vaccine dispatch in highly seasonal malaria transmission settings. This includes carrying out quantitative survey to assess the effect of executing the hybrid malaria vaccine immunization with different dispatch approaches on malaria vaccination coverage, timeliness of vaccination, vaccine-preventable malaria parasitological results, carer results (vaccine consciousness, expertise and perceptions) and utilization of non-vaccine malaria prevention interventions.

Structured approach

This includes responsibility for a three-arm non-randomized regulated study based on repeated cluster-random sampling of households and qualified children before and after the introduction of the interventions. Study arm units will be three (3) local government zones (LGAs) in Kebbi state while cluster sampling unit will be defined at an managerial unit below the LGA level, which includes health facility catchment zones, villages or census enumeration zones. The primary and secondary results to be measured are listed below:

Primary results:

Vaccination coverage Incidence of parasitologically-validated clinical malaria episodes among vaccine-qualified children using upgraded passive case surveillance.

Secondary results:

• Proportion of age-qualified children receiving 1/2/3 doses in the priming series
• Timeliness of vaccination dosing among children who received a minimum of one malaria vaccine dose
• Occurrence of malaria severity and hospitalization, among vaccine-qualified children
• Caregivers’ consciousness, expertise and perception of the malaria vaccine
• Coverage and utilization of non-vaccine malaria prevention solutions (e.g. SMC, ITNs).
• Data for the two primary results (vaccination coverage and parasitologically-validated malaria episodes) in addition to secondary results of interest under Goal 2 will be collected through two waves of household surveys.
• The first survey wave will be executed at baseline (shortly before the begin of the interventions), while the second (endline) wave will be carried out six months after the begin of the interventions.
• The survey questionnaire will be conceptualize in line with Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) guidelines, which will also allow for the collection of data pertaining to child, carer and household-level sociodemographic characteristics in each survey wave.

Specific Duty

• Participate physical development on data collection and survey methods executed by Analysis Team supervisor
• Offer helpful oversight for data collectors using suitable oversight checklist
• Supervise data collection process, which includes logistics and group entry and mobilization
• Follow secrecy and guard standardized processes to guarantee participants’ confidentiality is protected.
• Ensure the honesty and reliability of data during collection and upload
• Offer necessary information to clean data
• Compose a documentation on the data collection process, outlining the industry standards, the lessons learnt, hurdles, accomplishments and strategic guidance.

Outputs

• Oversight timetable conceptualize and provided
• Data collections of interviews are electronically upload ensured
• Process documentation on analysis initiatives are provided.

Staff Specification

• Bsc in community health, Worldwide Health, Sociology, Anthropology, Analysis Methods or a associated community-related science discipline
• A minimum of 5 years’ comprehensive expertise in a analysis position with an outstanding comprehension of quantitative analysis approaches while operating on donor-financed community health projects.
• Expertise in application of advanced tools in analysis – use of phone for data collection, use of data collection resources (eg surveyCTO)
• Demonstrable comprehension of participants’ relation in engagement to overcoming the obstacles in addition to approaches of productively sharing information with broad participants which includes state & LGA decision-makers and group recipients.
• Capability to speak both English and local language (eg Hausa)
• Understanding with and respect for the tradition and culture of the locality
• Understanding with terrain of the locality
• Remarkable abilities in MS Workspace program suite.
