Position Objective

A Nutrition Support at LABDI typicallysupports the organizing, execution, and supervising of nutrition programs, concentrating on optimizing the health and well-being of women and children, especially in conceptualizing countries. Role summary

  • Support visit / consciousness formation and compelling group participants on the Nutrition project initiatives for group acceptance and involvement.
  • Strategy and arrange nutrition initiatives at appointed MAM sites in communication link with the nutrition officer and other programme employees.
  • Assist site level technical evaluations and strategy and arrange LABDI group guided supplementary programme in project site on-site in communication link with the Nutrition Officer/Manager.
  • Carry out comprehensive standard procedure combined management of acute malnutrition (IMAM) Screening using mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) tape, two-party pitting edema discovery, operating under the SOPs of the IMAM part and principles.
  • Assisting targeting of recipients; formation and establishment of Mother Care groups; selection of group voluntary assistants and members of group systems.
  • Collaborate with care group supporters and head mothers to guarantee every facet of the programme are comprehend and accepted and suitable client recommendations take place to and from the group to MAM sites.
  • Ensure efficient client recommendations of the recognized malnourished children to the suitable programme (OTP, SC, Tom Brown) based on the level of malnutrition recognized.
  • Engage in the IYCF counselling and IYCF message sessions during OTP days and ensure names of caregivers are documented in the IYCF counselling register.
  • Teach lactating/breastfeeding mothers on maternal infant and young child nutrition (MIYCN) and efficient breastfeeding roles (Cradle, Cross-cradle, side lying and under-arm etc.) for good mother – child bonding during breastfeeding.
  • Through communication link with the group Mobilizer’s offer efficient check in of all recipients: especially tracing of children who are absent from the programme, sick children and children with community-related challenges... etc.
  • Supervise the allocation of complementary food recipe in project setup for complementary food presentation initiatives.
  • Address questions regarding the technical components of the programme admission and discharge whenever necessary at the MAM sites.
  • Client engagement and ensure the site team interacts with the recipients and group key stakeholders properly.
  • Screen and refer Moderate acute malnutrition cases to the Tom Brown TSFP activity for 8 weeks.
  • Comprehensive check in on OTP referred care givers to guarantee the routine ration of prepared to use therapeutic food (RUTF) is provided only to the OTP referred / malnourished Child.
  • Engage in the hygiene awareness education to care givers and children at group and household level.
  • Arrange and supervise the on a weekly basis / every month MIYCN assist group initiatives and ensure presence data are well documented for responsibility.
