Position Overview

Under the direction and direct oversight of the Chief of Democracy & Good Compliance Division, the officer’s main duty and duties will be to assist the work of the Division in supporting the Anti-corruption and Responsibility Schedule in ECOWAS Member States as articulated in the Supplementary Procedure on Democracy and Good Compliance.

Position and Duties

  • Support to the development and execution of programs meant to assist and strengthen Member States' institutions to prevent and fight corruption and corruption-associated initiatives.
  • Arrange development program for Civil Society Entities (CSOs) and anti-graft institutions in Member States on corruption prevention; help in supervising programs and their execution, and evaluate applicable documents and documentation.
  • Recognize challenges and concerns to be handled and start corrective actions; coordinate possessing applicable participants and ensure client engagement actions.
  • Analysis, evaluate, and show information assembled from multifaceted suppliers with a concentration on corruption risk evaluations and endorse risk reduction plans.
  • Offer assistance and proficiency for the synchronization of regulatory framework development on anti-corruption, which includes analyzing and evaluating concerns and practices, and getting ready reviews or other analysis initiatives and studies.
  • Arrange and organize documented results which includes regulatory framework and programmatic documentation, profile papers, evaluation, documentation sections, studies, and inputs to publications applicable to the division’s work.
  • Offer backstopping to advisory sessions, professional forums, workshops, etc.; recognize participants, and organize documents and demonstrations.
  • Work alongside and organize with associates, Member States' anti-corruption institutions, and other applicable entities which includes CSOs on anti-corruption matters, with a concentration on honesty and reliability and responsibility.
  • Act as the Desk Officer to the Network of Anti-Corruption Institutions in West Africa (NACIWA); organize the Yearly General Sessions, workshops, and capacity-building needs of the Network.
  • Track and evaluate industry standards, structured approaches, and program in anti-corruption.
  • Help the Chief of the Division in status updates on the division’s initiatives.
  • Execute other applicable obligations as necessary or allocated by the manager.
