Scope of work
- The qualitative survey will make use of 3 resources namely, Concentration groups discussion mentor, Key Informant Interview mentor and Detailed interview advisors.
- One enumerator will head the qualitative data collection process while the second enumerator will take notes of the full scope of process and record the verbal and non-verbal observations using the MC template.
- These enumerators (interviewers) will be supportively monitored by the state data supervisors.
- Prior to data collection, participants agrees will be searched for for interview and audio recording.
- All agreeing and qualified participants will be hired inside the networks and their views recorded, translated and transcribed as suitable.
- All survey audio records, site notes and finalize transcripts will be collated and evaluated by MC and disseminated to NMEP and other malaria participants to guide malaria prevention and health system strengthening in Nigeria.
Objective of Task:
- Engage data enumerators that will carry out data collection using qualitative resources (Attentive group discussion, Key Informant Interview and detailed interview advisors) across 6 states on the Malaria Market Evaluation project.
- Carry out and send the items listed.
- Six (6) attentive group discussion interviews records (3 from rural and 3 from urban across the 3 household earnings groups per urban and rural sites). Each FGD session must contain at least 6 and maximum of 12 participant per group interviewed for at least 60-90 minutes.
- Ten (10) Key Informant Interviews will be executed among Institutional Suppliers of ITNS and other malaria prevention products.
- Eight (8) Indepth Interviews will be executed per state (i.e 4 in urban and 4 in rural) among group opinion key stakeholders and primary stakeholders.
- Ten (10) Key Informant interviews will be executed among the national and state level private sector market participants – NMEP, ACPN, PSN, Guidelines Company of Nigeria (SON), NAPMED, SMEP personnels and associates.
- The data enumerators will Interview the items listed groups of participants during the survey. On the FGDs part, the household heads, at risk groups and students will be interviewed across rural and urban sites of each state. The Indepth Interviews (IDIs) will be executed among group opinion key stakeholders while the Key Informant Interviews will be executed among the Institutional Suppliers of ITNS and other malaria prevention products which includes; manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers in their selected state of resident.
Duties
- Recognize qualified respondents and consent on an preferred interview time with the respondents.
- Carry out the qualitative interview with the participant in a conducive environment to record the requirement and stock factors which includes the buyer conduct on prevention product ownership, product use, preferences, and consciousness regarding malaria prevention in Nigeria.
- Use Dc Voice input devices to elicit information from the multifaceted group of participants.
- Evaluate of data for precision and thoroughness before beginning of transcription and back translation into English language and entry to the manager.
- Entry of signed activity timesheets.
- Engage in pretesting of qualitative resources prior to site data collection.
Outputs:
- Precise and finalize FGD, KII and IDI Audio files
- Verbatim Transcription of FGDs and Interviews in local language.
- Translation of Interviews and FGDs records from local language to English language.
- Entry of precise site notes to allocated state supervisors
- Collection and entry of properly filled informed approval forms duly signed, or thumb printed by study participants
- Daily update highlighting key initiatives provided to the manager
- Use of a accurate and suitable qualitative instrument for each target respondent
