Guard & Safety Aide at INTERSOS Nigeria (2 Openings) in Nigeria

Position Objective

The Guard & Safety Aide should offer site activity assist and execution; the position delivers assist in the execution of INTERSOS’s Guard Rules and Standardized processes and guard strategies in the zone of execution programme under direct oversight of Guard and Safety supervisor.

Duties

• Coordinate with local governing bodies, INTERSOS employees and coordinate continuity of INTERSOS Programs.
• Linking & relationship building with networks, individuals, entities and to assist ensure INTERSOS employees and assets’ guard.
• Ensure the FSL project initiatives sites are safe for project execution.
• Ensures FSL project assets are safe at the site and project on-site.
• Oversee security officers at the project sites.
• Help Security guard in employees accident and threat control matters and serve as a backup guard focal point.
• Verify that every vehicles are equipped with current fire extinguishers, first assist kits and INTERSOS crisis numbers.
• Verify that every safety procedures and rules are executed following the safety directions.
• Organize employees movement in the site – with synchronization of Security guard or SFP at the site base workspaces.
• Help in executing INTERSOS safety rules, procedures, and standardized processes under technical oversight.
• Modify guard information exchange trees and preserve employees communication details.
• Preserve applicable safety recordkeeping, data and records for the zones of issue under technical direction.
• Convey Standard Operating Standardized processes (SOP), Contingency Strategies (CP), threat evaluations, and other safety rules for employees.
• Make sure that suitable entry regulates are in place for At INTERSOS facilities.
• Assist in the finalization of Safety Risk Evaluations (SRAs).
• Carry out briefings and circumstance status reports.
• Documentation all guard incidents to the security guard.
• Tracking the site of INTERSOS safety assets which includes, but not limited to, communications tools, first assist kit.
• Execute other duty as might be necessary with engagement to the INTERSOS Country Programme in Nigeria.

Role Qualifications

• At least National Certification.
• A minimum of 1 year of expertise from at national level project execution role in a humanitarian / recovery circumstance.
• Expertise in operating in sophisticated and volatile situations.
• Recorded outcomes connected with the role’s duties.
• Fluency in English, Hausa & Kanuri or Shuwa.
• Capacity to adjust to basic living terms, patience.
• Capability to put up with position pressure.
• Capability to supply premium quality work within tight due dates.
• Robust bargaining ability.
