Project Explanation

Northeast Nigeria is at present facing an expanding humanitarian crisis with a vast number of Internally Displaced Persons in need of crisis support. These IDPs are living among organizer networks, lacking entry to livelihoods and assets, ultimately top to unprecedented levels of malnutrition and food insecurity. FHI 360 possesses been operating in Nigeria for over 30 years and responded to the humanitarian crisis in the NE for five years. In expectation of a new project, and in assist of ongoing ones, FHI360 looks for an skilled Support Technical specialist, Nutrition - IYCF to assist our response to the humanitarian crisis in NE Nigeria.

Basic Operation

She/He documentation to the Technical specialist Health and dietary. Role is in charge of offering quality Infant & Young Child Feeding in crisis (IYCF – E) solutions at group and facility levels. The incumbent will engage in and will collaborate with other team members in the dispatch of most effective infant and young child feeding in crisis.

Obligations and Duties

• Head and organize the facilitation of group IYCF assist group initiatives
• Recognize development needs and build technical capacity of IYCF Assistants, assist group supporters, group nutrition mobilizers, and Head persons.
• Direct proficient IYCF aid offerings which includes Growth Advancement and Supervising at IYCF corners/spaces and other reach out points 
• Arrange and engage in food presentation sessions periodically
• Head micronutrient supplementation which includes micro-nutrient powder allocation.
• Carry out consistent target group discussions with recipients to evaluate obstacles to most effective IYCF uptake
• Assist the development of IYCF multimedia messages which includes radio jingles
• Ensure Gender integration in nutrition, and consolidation of other sectors
• Work alongside, marketing and build group consciousness during IYCF celebration days
• Assist the development of case studies and success stories from programme execution.
• Formulate network with other actors in the business zone in addition to group key stakeholders/delegates
• Engage in group dialogue, sensitize participants/group on IYCF-E initiatives and specific humanitarian programs executed by FHI 360.
• Take every month physical stock of all nutrition inventory making sure inventory levels are accounted for and adequate.
• Assist M & E unit during surveys, evaluations, target group discussions, project setup and entry of prompt documentation.
• Assist other nutrition initiatives as necessary.
• Other obligations as allocated.
