Mechanical support technician at Wemy Industries Limited in Lagos, Nigeria

Position Overview

We are looking for a proficient and meticulous Mechanical support technician to assist our production operations processes. The successful applicant will be in charge of preserving, repairing, and optimizing mechanical tools and machinery to guarantee smooth manufacturing workflows, reduce non-operational time, and uphold safety and quality benchmarks.

Primary duties

• Install, preserve, and fix mechanical tools, machinery, and operational structures used in the production operations process.
• Carry out standard procedure inspections and preventive servicing & maintenance to guarantee most effective machine effectiveness.
• Diagnose and diagnose issues mechanical concerns, recognizing root causes and endorsing initiatives.
• Execute tools running test, calibration, and modifications to meet generation qualifications.
• Work alongside generation supervisors and engineers to enhance machine effectiveness and reduce non-operational time.
• Preserve precise records of servicing & maintenance initiatives, repairs, and spare parts usage.
• Guarantee adherence with safety rules and organisation servicing & maintenance guidelines.
• Help in the installation and initiating of new machines and generation lines.
• Offer IT assistance during machine breakdowns and generation hurdles.
• Engage in ongoing development programs (e.g., lean production operations, 5S, TPM).

Credentials & Competencies

• Bachelor's degree/Higher national diploma/ND/Test Trade in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
• Demonstrated expertise as a Mechanical support technician in a production operations or industrial environment.
• Capability to read and analyze technical drawings, schematics, and documented guides.
• Competence in application of hand resources, power resources, and diagnostic tools.
• Outstanding diagnosing issues and analytical abilities.
• Robust collaboration, information exchange, and planning abilities.
• Readiness to operate changes and address crisis breakdowns.
