Generation Mechanical operator at PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc in Aba, Abia

Position Objective

The Packing machine operator is in charge of running and preserving wrapping department tools (labellers, conveyors, casers, stackers, coders and other associated wrapping tools) safely and productively to realise the on-site and business targets. 

Dimensions:

• ​Will possess practical understanding and expertise with wrapper processes; supervising for jams and efficient bundling wrap to prevent cost non-operational time due to handler error.
•  Load wrapping material onto machines without delay to guarantee no line stoppages.
• Examine wrapping, coding and seals to confirm conformance to requirements and executes necessary modifications to guarantee adherence.
• Observe process of tools and execute necessary modifications to guarantee product requirements are fulfilled.
• Guarantee adherence to all Business Unit SOP’s and SOC’s (Standard Operating Terms) and that all processes adhere with Good Production operations Practice (GMP) guidelines and offerings.
• Organize tools for next run to comprise of size modifications as needed. 
• Follow all necessary safe work procedures. This would comprise of wearing of all necessary PPE in appointed zones, confined space safety, safe chemical managing, fall restraints, etc.
• Verify that every paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and precise document structure, and finished with necessary information.
• Documenting all his processes as it’s necessary and necessary.
• Executing other duty and initiatives as could be assigned by his manager.
• Convey any modifications in product flow, tools malfunctions, shortages or deviations from requirements to Generation Manager, servicing & maintenance or other superior verbally and/or in drafting.
• Comprehends position duties and the value of conformity with the EMS qualifications.
• Executes and follows with EMS qualifications concerning ecological components and effects and other rules, standardized processes and/or rules relevant to allocated roles.

Chief Accountabilities:

• To operate with the Change manager repeatedly to enhance plant effectiveness while conforming to legislative and organisation guidelines.
• To operate closely as a team with other change-based key stakeholders to prioritise change activity and supply plant targets
• Observes Business Unit zone effectiveness through Short Interval Regulate; routine and on a weekly basis OEE tracker, recognition of the 3 top losses and coordinate evaluate of same.
• Coordinate efficient issue resolution through accepted Lean Production operations methods and produce Containments and Counter measures.
• Good expertise in how to recognize zones for advancement (Process, competencies, expertise, mindset, machine etc)
• To operate with the generation manager repeatedly to enhance plant effectiveness while conforming to legislative and organisation guidelines
• To operate with the servicing & maintenance manager doing LLF and PPM to repeatedly enhance machine accessibility
• Elimination/Reduction of non-operational time due to machine break down
• Engage in ongoing development programs.
• Follow organisation rules and standardized processes.

Key Responsibility:

To possess a good expertise in GMP qualifications and application in-field in line with GMP standard (PZC GMP standard/NAFDAC qualifications)

Necessary Credentials

• OND/Higher national diploma in Engineering associated discipline
• At least 1-3 years’ work expertise in a similar role
• Sound Expertise in Engineering Procedures
• Software Expertise
• Clear articulation and Public speaking
• Logical and Analytical abilities
• Capability to withstand stress and perform in high-stress situations
