Position Overview
- As part of IITA’s ongoing endeavors to strengthen the institutional effectiveness and financial adaptability, IITA is producing a new executive guidance role; Head Financial and Risk Officer (CFRO).
- The Head Financial and Risk Officer (CFRO) is a executive team position at IITA, status updates straight to the Director General and serving as a core member of the Top level Executive team (SMT) with monitoring over Finance, Risk mitigation strategy, Financial Operational structures and Data analysis.
- The CFRO will work alongside other SMT members and offer guidance on matters with financial and possible threat results. The CFRO will head endeavors to lead value for money and budget efficiency across programs, asset mobilization, and customer care processes.
- This position is designed to enhance visual precision, consolidation, and responsiveness in how IITA supervises and communicates its financial health especially in today’s continuously adapting donor and compliance environment.
- It will combine Finance, Risk mitigation strategy, Financial Operational structures and Data analysis monitoring aligning more closely with the requirements of our Board and the difficulty of today’s financial landscape.
- The CFRO will head the Institute’s financial plan, enterprise risk mitigation strategy, institutional data analysis, and financial operational structures monitoring to guarantee transparency, responsibility, and long-term long-term viability.
- The CFRO will play a pivotal position in offering strategic and business executive guidance of finance at IITA, building institutional adaptability by strengthening financial operational structures and regulates, optimizing income production and cost effectiveness and recovery mechanisms, and offering clear executive guidance and aspiration for the finance operation across IITA whilst conceptualizing a top-performing finance team.
Risk mitigation strategy:
- Formulate and preserve an enterprise risk mitigation strategy structure tailored to IITA’s continuously adapting processes.
- Offer worldwide monitoring for recognizing, evaluating, and supervising financial, business, and strategic risks by top an combined risk mitigation strategy approach that informs the worldwide risk register and strengthens proposal risk evaluations.
- Combine risk mitigation strategy operational structures, resources, and status updates into a unified worldwide structure to assist in supervising and coordinating those risks across IITA’s project sample.
- Advise the SMT and Board on risks, risk reduction plans and advance notice indicators.
- ·Lead the execution of enhancements and corrective actions arising from within and outside the organization audits, system issue assessments, case management results, donor response, and status reports to rules and procedures
Core Skills:
- At least 12 years of progressively extensive background in financial executive guidance positions, preferably in international, analysis, or development institutions.
- Strong insight of international donor financial adherence (e.g., CGIAR, World Bank, Gates Foundation).
- Demonstrated expertise with full cost recovery, financial operational structures execution, risk monitoring, and institutional organizing.
- Conceptualizing and supplying business and strategic strategies and offering guidance at a executive team level in a large, international and sophisticated company with various participants.
- Conceptualizing, executing, analyzing information and financial operational structures internationally, and an appreciation of the need to use tech for business linking internationally.
- The capability to be both a practical and strategic leader and the quickness and the capability to adapt to constantly evolving conditions while preserving concentration on dispatch and follow-through.

Work Requirement
The agreement will be for an starting period of three years. IITA proposals an internationally attractive compensation package paid in US Dollars.
