Civil / structural engineer at Jamub Group of Companies in Abuja (FCT)

Position Objective

To offer specialist engineering competence in the oversight and implementation of road and building building projects. The position ensures projects are fulfilled on time, within financial plan, and in adherence with engineering guidelines, safety rules, and customer requirements.

Primary duties

• Oversee and oversee daily on-site initiatives on road and building building projects.
• Supervise initiative implementation to guarantee compliance to design, requirements, and engineering guidelines.
• Track service providers, subcontractors, and on-site workers to guarantee adherence with project strategies.
• Execute and track Quality assurance/Quality control operational structures across all stages of project implementation.
• Examine materials, workmanship, and methods to guarantee adherence with guidelines and customer qualifications.
• Organize and evaluate method statements, ITPs (Assessment & Test Strategies), and Quality assurance/Quality control recordkeeping.
• Organize and evaluate work plans, advancement documentation, and system manuals.
• Carry out quality assurance checks on building materials, workmanship, and finished works.
• Ensure full adherence with safety, health, and ecological (SHE) guidelines in-field.
• Offer technical direction and assist to entry-level engineers, on-site supervisors, and foremen.
• Coordinate with advisors, architects, surveyors, and customers for project status reports and authorizations.
• Oversee asset distribution which includes labor, tools, and materials.
• Carry out on-site inspections to settle system problems and endorse corrective actions
• Ensure adherence to adherence with engineering codes, guidelines, and compliance obligations.
• Assist project organizing, cost estimation, and agreement management methods.

Credentials and Competencies

• Education: Bachelor's degree / bachelor's in engineering. in Civil Engineering (Master's degree is a plus).
• A member of a professional body: COREN, NSE, or equivalent identified engineering body accreditation.
• At least 8 years practical experience in both road and building building projects.
• Established history in on-site oversight, project implementation, and adherence with engineering guidelines.
• Solid understanding of building methods, materials, and lawful rules.
• Competence in civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project, Primavera 6, etc.).
• Outstanding executive guidance, information exchange, and analytical abilities.
• Capability to operate under pressure and oversee various projects at the same time.
