The Company for Creative invention in Community health (OIPH, PATH’s local affiliate in Nigeria) looks for a Technical consultant for the USG-financed Reaching every vulnerable group and household with malaria solutions (REACH Malaria) worldwide project. REACH goals to offer execution aid offerings and technical support to countries to accelerate advancement in complete dispatch of facility and locally-driven malaria solutions, which includes malaria case management, prevention of malaria in pregnancy (MiP), seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC), health operational structures strengthening, data collection and use for service dispatch, other malaria prevention interventions and maternal, newborn, child health (MNCH) and nutrition.  The Malaria Technical consultant will answer to the Head of Party and will take a executive function in making sure quality technical execution of initiatives, meet stated targets and status updates qualifications. S/he will organize possessing applicable ministry of health authorities at national and subnational level, PATH technical teams and other malaria executing associates on system problems of the project. 

Duties

  •  Offer entire technical backstop for the project in the country. 
  • Head technical, management, and supervising components of project activity execution, and guarantee alignment to PMI technical direction and worldwide industry standards.      
  • Offer IT assistance to the MOH through the national malaria programme, making sure premium quality interventions across all technical zones. 
  • Actively engage in malaria associated, MNCH, nutrition and other applicable community health technical operating groups.  
  • Preserve ongoing domain expertise on malaria and other associated community health topics, and oversee introduction and scale-up of industry standards and technical interventions 
  • Help the Head of Party in conceptualizing yearly work strategies, financial plans and effectiveness documentation. 
  • Oversee and oversee technical teams in execution of programme initiatives  
  • Collaborate with the MoH to actively use data for strategic judgment and to recognize how malaria regulate initiatives and the effect can be sustained over time.  
  • Work alongside MoH technical professionals in development of rules, standard procedures, and development materials, IT assistance oversight and guidance programs.   
  • Work alongside other teams in PATH which includes diagnostics, maternal, newborn and child health, data and digital health, for their technical inputs into project outputs and activity strategies.  
  • Take on obligations as may be allocated by the Head of Party and other top level associates 

Qualifications

  • MSC or higher in community health, medical sciences, or other associated area.  
  • At least 7 years of offering engineering guidance in designing and executing malaria regulate, community health or associated programs in service dispatch initiatives, partnering closely with National Malaria Regulate Programs and other government and civil society participants at country level.  
  • Expertise assisting donor-financed health projects, with preference for malaria and other community health interventions.  
  • Exhibited management, executive guidance, strategic judgment and people skills 
  • Understanding with participants in the malaria solutions space, which includes malaria case management, prevention of MiP, SMC, surveillance, health operational structures strengthening, data collection and use for service dispatch and other MNCH programs. 
  • Verified ability to juggle duties and work alongside work productively with lead personnel, teammates, donors, collaborating organizations, participants, local institutions, and others at all levels.  
  • Robust issue resolution, planning abilities and a positive, results-driven approach to hurdles.   
  • Capability to operate in a sophisticated environment with various duty, short due dates, and an emphasis on quality.  
  • Outstanding logical, visual communication and documentation skilled in writing.  
  • Remarkable abilities in facilitation, team building and synchronization.  
  • Dedicated attitude, resourcefulness, honesty and reliability, credibility, and commitment to PATH’s purpose.  
  • Occupational skill in English necessary.
