Job Description

Position Overview

Manages & arranges all marine initiatives onboard which includes, but not limited to, safety, environment, and firefighting tools, lifting processes, rig moves & jacking system process, stability & ballast regulates, helicopter processes, hull & tanks servicing & maintenance, crises response positions. Care and accreditation of all marine tools onboard. Oversee and ensure rig is in adherence with relevant regulations, codes, rules, and standardized best practices contemplating the safety of staff, environment & tools.

Stability:

  • Assures routine precise rig loading, leg reactions, inventory of fuel/water and centers of gravity are kept inside the design limits for the safe process of the unit.
  • Calculate the routine load evaluation benchmarks to guarantee the installation satisfies the process and stability qualifications.
  • During loading make sure that deck loading is inside the loading evaluation benchmarks in accordance with rig design and process documented guide.

Lifting Processes:

Manages and directs loading/unloading and movement of all cargo which includes directing & organizing for crane critical, sophisticated lifting processes and staff move, onboard and outboard the unit. Direct deck crew to move/load/unload critical items contemplating the unit load allocation calculations to guarantee guard of the lifted items & staff.

Management of Key Crises:

  • To be part of the Rig’s Crisis-management Team as thorough in the Contingency-plan and in Organisation Standardized processes.
  • Make sure that all staff are ordered in the relevant standardized processes in the case of an crisis.
  • Make sure that Well Regulate and general safety drills are held and documented in accordance with Organisation and Compliance obligations.

Inspections & Qualifications:

Arranges and engages in various assessment and survey initiatives in accordance with Class and statutory qualifications and any other local/country/authority or compliance-related body surveys. Preserve the unit’s statutory accreditation and records as necessary by Class and Flag or any other compulsory rules, STCW convention issued by IMO etc. or any other local country/authority compliance-related body.

Materials & Tools:

Observes all preventive servicing & maintenance activity for marine, helideck, navigation, firefighting, lifesaving tools onboard the unit and ensure the prompt implementation of such servicing & maintenance and make sure that all lifting tools are accredited and kept in good operating requirement. Liaises with the OIM and Servicing & maintenance Department to guarantee formation of servicing & maintenance/repairs, Class, and other audits outstanding strategic guidance works. Arranges hull and tank painting yearly strategies and assessments finalization every quarter.

Helicopter Processes:

Make sure that the Helicopter processes are occurred safely & according to the aviation governing bodies, guidelines & rules and preserve valid accreditation for the helideck.

Room maintenance services:

Make sure that the work zones are clean and orderly readied, free of risks prior to & upon finalization of the work, assignment, or repairs by the deck crew. Direct the dispose of the debris as per the organization hazardous material segregations regulatory framework / waste management regulatory framework taking into deliberation the ecological & safety effects.

 Team lead & Development:

  • Offer clear directions to their team regarding their obligations, duties, and any necessary safety precautions prior to starting work.
  • Train, formulate and educate their team to guarantee safe and efficient processes.
  • Recognizes avenues for ability and profession progression, works to assist the career progression of their team.
  • Ensure their team receives the necessary necessary development to execute their obligations safely and productively through on-the-position development, classroom development, and involvement in safety drills and exercises.
  • Analyzes the effectiveness of their team on constant and fair response basis, recognize zones for advancement, lead Improve process to formalize a results tracking culture.

Physical Qualifications:

Occasionally climbing (stairs, ladders) & walking. Capability to operate on day/night changes.

Qualifications:

As per ADES Development Matrix. A Valid Certification of Ability from Maritime Academy is essential for Self-propelled units.
