Position Overview

The Cummins & CAT Generator Technician is in charge of the installation, assessment, servicing & maintenance, diagnosing issues, and fix of Cummins and Caterpillar diesel/power generators. The position ensures the dependable process of standby and prime power operational structures, minimizing non-operational time and supplying most effective effectiveness.

Primary duties

• Install, service, and fix Cummins and CAT generators, which includes engines, alternators, and regulate panels.
• Execute standard procedure servicing & maintenance which includes oil modifications, filter replacement, coolant system checks, and load running test.
• Diagnose and diagnose issues electrical and mechanical faults
• Carry out preventive and corrective servicing & maintenance according to OEM guidelines.
• Calibrate, set up, and fix generator regulate operational structures and automatic move switches (ATS).
• Preserve precise records of servicing & maintenance initiatives, parts used, and fix record.
• Guarantee adherence with health and safety protocols and ecological guidelines while managing fuel, lubricants, and spare parts.
• Offer in-field IT assistance to customers/clients when necessary.
• Documentation key faults, possibility risks, and endorse corrective actions to supervisors.
• Keep abreast with the latest OEM technical status reports, modifications, and service bulletins.

Credentials and Expertise

• Technical certification, OND / Higher national diploma, or equivalent accreditation in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• At least 3–5 years’ expertise servicing Cummins and CAT generators (ranging from 30KVA – 2000KVA).
• OEM development/accreditation (Cummins, CAT, or equivalent) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of diesel engines, alternators, and power allocation operational structures.
• Capability to read and analyze technical documented guides, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
