Assistant accountant at Staff-Recruit in Victoria Garden City, Ajah - Lagos

Primary duties

The Assistant accountant will assist the Finance & Accounts team in routine accounting processes, which includes financial recordkeeping, adjustments, project setup of financial statements, and making sure adherence with internal regulates and accounting guidelines. The position delivers an avenue to gain practical experience and formulate a profession in accounting and finance.

Role summary

• Help in getting ready and preserving finance records, ledgers, and transaction entries.
• Post and resolve financial record in the financial system (bills, receipts, expenditures, payments).
• Verification of payments made by customers.
• Entry of every month financial matching statement.
• Coordinating and disbursing small expense fund and workspace expenditures.
• Calculate, remit and file all PAYE records.
• Filling and paying all other tax and liabilities.
• Assist guarantee adherence with tax rules and statutory filings.
• Help during within and outside the organization audits.
• Preserve proper submitting of financial documents.
• Any other obligations as allocated by the Principal accountant.

Role expectations

• Bsc in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field
• 1 - 3 years of accounting expertise
• Applicable accounting accreditation or part certification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
• Competence in Excel spreadsheet software and financial system (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage)
• Basic comprehension of financial recordkeeping and financial principles
• Robust meticulousness and high level of precision
• Outstanding corporate and time-leadership abilities
• Capability to operate independently and in a collaborative environment
• Must resident within Ajah and its environ.
