Assigned tasks

Adherence Monitoring: Head and supervise the comprehensive adherence management structure of the MFB, covering compliance-related status updates to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other applicable agencies, adherence manpower planning, internal regulate assessments, periodic audits, and full compliance to relevant Nigerian legal provisions, CBN Standard procedures, and other supervisory qualifications. AML/CFT & Fraud Prevention: Direct the adherence team in conceptualizing, executing, and supervising strong Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Countering the Funding of Terrorism (CFT), and Anti-Fraud programs, making sure the MFB's processes fully adhere with the Money Laundering (Prevention & Prohibition) Act, CBN AML/CFT Rules, and other applicable financial crime adherence obligations. Adherence Supervising: Establish and preserve a organized programme for recognizing, supervising, and evaluating adherence risks, which includes periodic adherence assessments, internal audits, and compliance-related risk evaluations, with recorded findings and remediation strategies. Compliance-related Connection Management: Act as the primary reach out point for all adherence-associated matters with CBN, the Economic and Financial Crimes Fee (EFCC), the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), the Nigeria Deposit Coverage Corporation (NDIC), and other applicable governing bodies; preserve robust, collaborative, and transparent connections to coordinate a favorable and conforming operating environment.

Qualifications

• Bsc or above in Law, Finance, Risk mitigation strategy, or a associated discipline; applicable specialist qualifications are a desirable asset.
• At least 10 years' demonstrated expertise in adherence management within a controlled financial institution, with significant exposure to Microfinance Banks (MFBs) or microfinance processes preferred.
• Deep understanding of Nigerian financial rules, supervisory frameworks, and compliance-related status updates qualifications.
