Electrical technician at Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) in Kebbi

Core tasks and Duties

Executing autonomously, sophisticated / improved installation and servicing & maintenance of electrical and other energy operational structures in all MSF facilities across the purpose (workspaces, health systems, warehouses, etc., according to MSF guidelines and standardized processes, to guarantee a proper functioning and servicing & maintenance of MSF tools and system setups.

Accountabilities

• Making sure all electrical system setups in MSF facilities adhere with MSF guidelines and executing autonomously and making sure, all necessary sophisticated / improved electrical system setups, servicing & maintenance and repairs, according to the manager’s directions. This comprises the items listed duty:
• Carrying out critical rehabilitation duty and corrective servicing & maintenance interventions and the synchronization and implementation of necessary duty in addition to installation of needed electrical tools as defined by each project. Elaborating the necessary recordkeeping for carrying out energy system setups projects (strategies, list of materials, etc.)
• Carrying out and updating the electrical system setups stock in MSF missions’ facilities and executing yearly servicing & maintenance standardized processes and safety checks across facilities in the project. Carrying out any needed tests after any fix or servicing & maintenance.
• Recognizing local technical actors, and arranging their involvement in the project (development of specialists, establishing relations with local companies, service providers and suppliers, quotations, agreements, etc.)
• Making suggestions regarding any fix or servicing & maintenance work needed in MSF electrical system setups and tools and helping logistics department with any immediate assist/guidance or any relative work needed
• Coordinating the inventory of expendable items connected with electrical installation, repairs and servicing & maintenance, filling in the inventory cards, carrying out physical inventory inventories, carrying out orders necessary for renewing inventory, avoiding any shortage
• In charge of the technical resources (which includes extinguishers), checking they are correctly and safely used, preserving and renewing them as required and keeping the stock current.
• Keeping operating zone clean and tidy.
• Making sure that all document sheets and records connected with servicing & maintenance are always finished and arranges needed documentation before and after any fix or necessary servicing & maintenance.

Specific Accountabilities:

Making sure all electrical system setups in the base ( visitor and workspace ), warehouse ,ITFC,ATFC adhere with msf guidelines. Execute the new eletrcical system setups and servicing & maintenance ( preventive nd curative) of current

System setups:

• Execute the servicing & maintenance ( preventive and curative ) for all electrical tools and machines of the project
• Execute the development of user on the use and risk of electrical installation and electrical tools
• Modify stock of electrical tools and materials and spares parts
• Assisting in the buying process of any electrical tools or installation
• Ensure the electrical safety of all system setups to the users but sorting out any electrical risks
• Management of the store of the electrical consummables, spare parts and materials filling in the inventory cards, carrying out physical inventory inventories, carrying out orders necessary for renewing inventory
• Oversee the electrical resources and workshop.
