Duties and Accountabilities

  • Ensure the productive routine processes of the Migration Health Evaluation Center (MHAC), in close synchronization with the Head Migration Health Officer (CMHO).
  • Carry out the MHAC’s migration health evaluation process to fulfil the technical qualifications of the resettlement countries in the zones of:
  • Medical examinations.
  • Imaging.
  • Laboratory running test.
  • Vaccinations.
  • TB management.
  • Treatment and client recommendations.
  • Pre-exit standardized processes and medical movements.
  • Recordkeeping, accreditation, and information transmission; and,
  • Other technical zones as may be necessary
  • Ensure proper recognition of refugees and migrants during the health evaluation and document supporting health information in standard forms, making sure thoroughness and precision of the documented information.
  • Execute treatment for TB and sexually transmitted infections and offer assist to the HIV and counselling initiatives. Supervise and organize the management of TB cases to ensure efficient TB treatment.
  • Supervise and organize precise and efficient offering of immunization and presumptive treatment program in full adherence with the technical standard procedures and procedures of the resettlement countries. Help CMHO in supervising, directing, and teaching all employees in the dispatch of these program.
  • Support to and preserve a system of quality advancement for each service areawithin the MHAC. Perform quality assurance initiatives routinely, which includes practice observation, desk audits and use of self-evaluation resources. Use data evaluation and web status updates system to track results indicators.
  • Ensure execution of the worldwide IOM Standard Operating Standardized processes (SOPs); produce and execute MHAC-specific SOPs for each service zone.
  • Ensure proper status updates and management of incidents according to the Direction Note for System issue Management.
  • Arrange systematic collection, processing, and evaluation of migration health data according to standard procedures established by the CMHO. Ensure data accuracy. Offer periodic, in addition to as-needed status updates to the CMHO for Migration Health initiatives.
  • Ensure that all data associated to heath evaluation program is accordingly entered to Migrant Management  Business System Application (MiMOSA) and other associated databases.
  • Supervise the financial components of the MHAC in close synchronization with the purpose's finance employees oversee financial plan  project setup, suggest modifications and cost-efficient initiatives, and evaluate financial statements.
  • Offer monitoring and organize the procurement of medical tools, vaccines, medications, and other medical inventory in synchronization with the CMHO and the Asset Management Unit.
  • Execute such other obligations as may be allocated by the Manager.

Expertise:

At least four (4) years post-intern uninterrupted hands-on patient care, ideally in a multidisciplinary hospital setting. The final clinical posting should be inside the final five years; and, Valid permit to practice within Nigeria is compulsory.

Competencies:

  • Exhibited competence with Office productivity software applications, which includes Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.

Languages: Necessary:

Fluency in English (spoken communication and documented) necessary.

Preferred:

  • Practical understanding of the local language.
  • IOM’s formal languages are English, French and Spanish.
  • Competence of language(s) necessary will be particularly assessed during the selection process, which may comprise of documented and/or spoken communication evaluations.
