Job Description

Objective of Position

  • Africa CDC plays a pivotal position in strengthening the continent’s health guard, especially through efficient preparedness and response to community health crises.
  • Prompt and productive dispatch of medical and crisis inventory is critical to this mandate.
  • The Warehouse and Logistics Team supervisor will offer strategic and business executive guidance to Africa CDC’s warehousing and allocation processes, making sure that health products are stored, handled, and fulfilled to Member States and associates with speed, precision, and adherence.
  • This position is instrumental in optimizing Africa CDC’s stock chain capabilities, especially in the circumstance of crisis-management, pandemic preparedness, and cross-border synchronization

Main Processes

  • Offer technical and executive executive guidance for warehouse and logistics processes, making sure alignment with Africa CDC’s strategic community health crisis-management structure and stock chain structure, and on-time completion of inventory to Member States and associates.
  • Supervise the efficient and productive storage, stock regulate, managing, and allocation of medical and non-medical inventory. Ensure most effective warehouse layout, safe storage terms, and quality assurance mechanisms.
  • Head and train a cross-functional team comprising warehouse officers, logistics planners, and assistants. Formulate capacity-building strategies and ensure a top-performing and goal-oriented team.
  • Organize comprehensive logistics, which includes requirement predicting, requisition processing, transportation, and final-mile dispatch during standard procedure processes and community health crises.
  • Guarantee adherence with AU and Africa CDC warehousing regulatory framework. Supervise risk risk reduction plans, and produce consistent effectiveness and audit documentation

Specific Duties

  • Oversee storage, stock, and allocation using industry standards and digital operational structures to guarantee effectiveness and precision.
  • Formulate and execute SOPs for warehouse and logistics processes.
  • Preserve instantaneous stock tracking and status updates using resources which includes WMS and Enterprise platform planning.
  • Track KPIs and use business intelligence to evaluate effectiveness, recognize bottlenecks, and assist strategic strategic judgment.
  • Head logistics processes during health crises, managing with Africa CDC’s IMS and AU organs for rapid deploying of critical inventory.
  • Work alongside internal units (procurement, finance, programs) and external associates (Member States, WHO, UN agencies, Gavi, donors).
  • Coordinate strategic collaborations with 3PLs and regional hubs to improve final-mile dispatch.
  • Guarantee adherence with safety and compliance guidelines, which includes cold chain qualifications.
  • Supervise warehouse audits, inspections, and ensure traceability and responsibility of assets.
  • Deliver session needs evaluations and advance a learning culture through tailored capacity-building programs.
  • Organize logistics documentation covering inventory status, dispatch timelines, and business hurdles.
  • Engage in logistics and warehouse financial planning and oversee associated agreements and expenditures.

Or

Bsc in Health Stock Chain Management, or a relevant field requiring at least 12 years of expertise in stock chain management, warehouse processes, allocation logistics, or a strongly connected site. A minimum of 3 years of this expertise should be at the supervisory or executive level, with direct monitoring of warehouse teams and/or logistics units

Necessary Competencies:

  • Outstanding verbal and professional writing competencies in any of the AU operating languages (Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Kiswahili, and Spanish); practical understanding of other AU languages is a plus.
  • Effective guidance abilities with the capacity to motivate and mentor teams toward delivering targets.
  • Exceptional corporate and schedule control competencies to assign priorities to tasks productively and deliver on time.
  • High meticulousness and precision in stock management and records entry.
  • Skilled in using warehouse management operational structures and software for tracking stock and creating documentation.
  • Efficient analytical abilities to recognize and settle concerns in warehouse processes and execute productive initiatives.
  • Flexibility to dynamic environments and evolving key focuses and needs.
  • Expertise in workplace safety and wellness rules to preserve a safe operating environment.
  • Deep knowledge of warehouse processes, which includes receiving, order fulfilment, and stock regulate.

Tenure of Assignment:

The Assignment will be made on a fixed-term agreement for a period of one (1) year, of which the first three (3) months will be assessed as a probationary period. Thereafter, the agreement may be renewed for a similar period, subject to financing accessibility, acceptable effectiveness and accepted outputs.
