Technical specialist – Shelter & Non-Food Items at Family Health International (FHI 360) in Maiduguri, Borno

Position Overview

The Technical specialist – Shelter & NFIs will assist the organizing, execution, and supervising of shelter and NFI interventions in dispute-affected networks. The position includes technical direction, synchronization with associates, and making sure quality and responsibility in service dispatch.

Execution & Supervising:

• Manage execution of shelter &NFI initiatives by consortium associates.
• Guarantee adherence with donor qualifications and humanitarian guidelines
• Track milestone tracking and deliver promptly documentation.

IT assistance:

• Offer technical direction to site teams and executing associates.
• Educate employees and group members on shelter building methods and NFI usage.
• Ensure safety, strength, and cultural appropriateness of shelter initiatives.

Synchronization & Depiction:

• Engage in sector synchronization sessions (Shelter/NFI Cluster).
• Coordinate with local governing bodies, group key stakeholders, and other participants.
• Work alongside supply chain and purchasing teams for on-time completion of materials.

Responsibility & Learning:

• Advance recipient response mechanisms.
• Record lessons learned and industry standards.
• Assist reviews and support to donor status updates.

Credentials & Expertise

• Bsc in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a relevant field.
• 5-7 years’ expertise in humanitarian shelter and NFI programming.
• MSC in relevant field with 3-5 years’ expertise
• Understanding with humanitarian guidelines and synchronization mechanisms.
• Clear expression and planning abilities.
• Expertise operating in Northeast Nigeria or similar situations is an asset.
