Farm Hand – Livestock at Mary Ajoke Farms Limited in Gora - Karu LGA, Nasarawa

Role summary

We are looking for a diligent, in charge, and animal-loving Farm Hand to help with the routine care and management of livestock and other animals on our farm. The successful applicant will play a main responsibility in the health, hygiene, and feeding of animals which includes cows, goats, rams, pigs, rabbits, and poultry.

Duties

• Feed livestock and other animals according to established routines and dietary needs.
• Ensure animals always possess clean, fresh water.
• Observe animals routine for signs of illness, injury, or distress.
• Documentation any concerns promptly to the Livestock Manager or Farm operations manager.
• Help in managing basic treatments (with guidance).
• Clean pens, stalls, coops, and hutches routinely.
• Preserve hygienic terms in animal housing zones.
• Help during birthing periods and offer basic care for young animals.
• Assist track mating and birthing cycles.
• Preserve simple records of feed, births, medication, and general observations.
• Ensure animals are securely housed at night.
• Documentation any loss to pens, fencing, or shelters.
• Assist with fencing, feed storage, and minor repairs.
• Help in moving animals as necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous expertise operating with livestock or animals is highly preferred.
• Basic comprehension of animal conduct and farm hygiene procedures.
• Physically suit and cozy operating outdoors in all weather terms.
• Dependable, trustworthy, and capable to operate independently.
• Must be cozy living in a rural farm setting.
• Capability to read and compose basic English (or Hausa preferred but not necessary).
