Farm Hand – Launch Fields at Mary Ajoke Farms Limited in Gora, Karu LGA, Nasarawa

Job Description

We are looking for a diligent and dependable Farm Hand to assist day-to-day activities on our launch-site crop section.
The preferred candidate will help with land project setup, planting, weeding, irrigation, fertilisation, pest regulate, and harvesting.
This is a physically challenging position appropriate for individuals who are committed to agriculture and enjoy operating outdoors in changing weather terms.

Help in soil project setup, which includes tilling, bed formation, and compost application.
Execute prompt planting of crops according to the farm timetable.
Carry out documented guide and mechanical weeding as needed.
Submit application fertilisers and pesticides safely and in accordance with directions.
Set up, operate, and preserve irrigation operational structures.
Assist crop supervising, document-keeping, and scouting for pests or diseases.
Harvest crops by hand or using farm tools, making sure minimal loss.
Preserve the cleanliness and orderliness of the farm zone.
Documentation any concerns with crops, tools, or operational structures to the Launch Site Manager or Farm operations manager promptly.
Help in loading, sorting, and storing harvested generate.

Basic literacy and numeracy competencies
Previous expertise operating on a farm, especially with crop generation, is desirable.
Basic comprehension of planting cycles, pest regulate, and irrigation.
Physically suit and capable to operate long hours in the sun, rain, or dusty terms.
Growth mindset and adhere to guidance closely.
Capability to operate both independently and in a collaborative environment.
Trustworthy, on time, and in charge.
Understanding with local crop types and growing seasons.
Expertise with basic farm machinery (e.g., hoes, knapsack sprayers, wheelbarrows, small tractors).
Expertise in safe chemical managing procedures.
Valid driver's permit with a clean pushing document.
Fluency in English, Hausa and/or Yoruba.
