Expert - Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality at DP World in Apapa, Lagos

Responsibility

The Expert - SHERQ holds direct authority to help the transport processes in meeting SOTIF (Safe, On Time, In Full) targets alongside Quality, health, safety, and environment Department targets. Operating under the Manager SHERQ's oversight, the SHERQ Expert proponents for and ensures compliance to guidelines and standardized processes inside the Transport Processes Business Unit.

Other:

• Carry out consistent inspections, risk evaluations, and audits to recognize risks, evaluate risks, and execute corrective/preventive measures in line with Quality, health, safety, and environment guidelines in the business.
• Work alongside business teams to offer direction on Health, safety, and environment industry standards, supporting a safe operating environment for all employees and service providers.
• Track and explore incidents, accidents, or near-misses, and offer strategic guidance for advancement to prevent reoccurrence.
• Oversee capacity-building plans on Health, safety, and environment topics, making sure that employees are adequately prepared to execute their obligations safely.
• Preserve precise records and recordkeeping connected with Health, safety, and environment initiatives, which includes system issue documentation, inspections, and development records.
• Serve as a communication link between the organization and compliance-related agencies, making sure adherence with local, state, and federal Health, safety, and environment rules.
• Organize crisis-management standardized processes and engage in conceptualizing contingency strategies for possibility crises or disasters.
• Assist the execution of maintainable ecological procedures, which includes waste management and conservation programs.

Credentials Necessary

• Bsc in workplace safety and wellness, Ecological Science, Work-related Health, or associated discipline.
• Bachelor's degree/ Higher national diploma Certification in any Science Course.
• NEBOSH – IGC
• ISO 45001 or ISO 9001 or ISO 14001
• ISPON Level II or Skilled level III
• Any other Quality, health, safety, and environment qualifications
