Graphics Arts / Painting and Decoration Tutor at Blooms Academy in Abuja (FCT)

Position Objective

To motivate creativeness and formulate students’ artistic expression through the training of Graphics Arts, Painting, and Decoration, while aligning lessons with the Cambridge Checkpoint Syllabus and the school’s innovative arts guidelines.

Primary duties

• Train Graphics Arts, Painting, and Decoration across allocated year groups, combining Checkpoint syllabus targets where relevant.
• Formulate compelling lesson strategies that balance theory, practice, and creativeness.
• Educate students in methods of painting, drawing, decoration, and other graphics art forms.
• Arrange and oversee practical art projects, workshops, and exhibitions.
• Motivate creativeness, critical thinking, and self-expression in students.
• Offer feedback criticism and evaluate students’ artistic advancement.
• Preserve and oversee art studio assets, resources, and materials productively.
• Introduce students to art record, modern-day practices, and cultural appreciation.
• Promote a helpful and uplifting classroom environment that celebrates creativeness.
• Organize students for within and outside the organization evaluations, contests, and exhibitions.
• Liaise with parents/guardians on student advancement and highlight student work.
• Work alongside teammates to combine art across other subjects where possible.
• Assist school-wide events, cultural programs, and graphics displays.

Credentials & Competencies

• At least Bsc in Fine Arts, Graphics Arts, Art Education, or relevant field.
• Training certification (PGDE, TRCN registration) is a plus.
• Exposure to and expertise with the Cambridge Checkpoint Syllabus is highly preferred.
• Proven educational background experience in Graphics Arts, Painting, and Decoration at school level.
• Robust innovative, technical, and artistic competencies.
• Clear articulation, classroom management, and planning abilities.
• Capability to motivate and develop visual creativity in students.
• Understanding with a variety of art media, methods, and digital art resources.
